OCR Software11 Feb 2007 23:05 GMT1
Any recommendations please for OS X on an Intel iMac?
I've tried the Readiris trial, but it's slow (maybe to do with the fact
it's PowerPC) and too expensive.
It looks as though buying a new scanner with bundled software is the

you zap a bad guy he ends up a rubbed out smudge on the paper :-)

Character map issues11 Feb 2007 21:33 GMT4
I've always been a bit frustrated by this, and wondered what the
collective wisdom had to offer.
There used to be a character map program that enabled you to see all

QuickSilver stability11 Feb 2007 20:02 GMT10
How are other QS users finding its stability? I've had three crashes,
usually when selecting a preference tab, since installing it yesterday.
(OS 10.4.8, QS b51). No haxies or similar installed that I can think of.
I hope there's a solution, because QS looks great.

Anyone using google Docs/spreadsheets/photo/calendar?11 Feb 2007 15:28 GMT3
Just been playing around with Google's on line Docs & Spreadsheet pro
grammes and the Photo management.  Not tried the calendar yet.
So far I'm quite impressed with the ease of use and of course the price
- free !!
How does it do that?11 Feb 2007 14:13 GMT15
I've been messing around today swapping hard drives and wot not. I connected
a backup clone of my macbook HD to my Powerbook.
Before doing so I noticed the powerbook had no app installed that could
handle .rar files. I could see a bunch of emails in maill.app that have .rar

Should abortions be allowed if tests showed the baby would grow up to be a gay man?11 Feb 2007 01:26 GMT-
It could save a lot of heartache, not to mention AIDS.
If I found out any of my sons were gay, they'd have an 'accident'

VMWare Fusion10 Feb 2007 20:51 GMT1
It seems like this already has support for accelerated 3D graphics,
which is something Parallels can't do (yet) and is *very* cool.
