I have read a right few reviews of the Apple TV but I am assuming it

You just can't give them away...14 Feb 2007 09:36 GMT7
Odd this. On the Mac ads group last week I put up a couple of compact
Macs (a Classic and a Plus) for free to anyone that wanted to collect
'em. No-one emailed me all week. So I had some Ebay listings credit and
figured I'd give it a go. One of 'em is now at £23 and I anticipate ...

I've tried to extract some material from a DVD for inclusion in a
training course, extracting it with MacTheRipper then converting it
with VLC to allow me to embed it in Keynote as Quicktime.
The conversion has changed the format from widescreen and I wasn't able

Exchange 2007 + Macs13 Feb 2007 23:57 GMT3
Has anyone tried accessing Exchange Server 2007 with a Mac IMAP client?
None of the ones I have tried (Mail, Thunderbird, Entourage) will work
reliably with folders stalling, messages not downloading etc, but
Entourage works fine over WebDAV.

I appear to have just killed another iBook stone-cold dead.
In short, it kept getting panics when Airport was on, but not when off.
During the process of creating a fully-bootable backup, it started...

Happy Birthday!13 Feb 2007 23:36 GMT39
Continuing the tradition, it's Peter Lee's person to step up to the cake
and take a deep breath. Sorry it's a bit on the late side, Peter, but
better late than never!
Happy Birthday! Hope you have (had) a good one!
Can't open backed up data - "I/O error"13 Feb 2007 23:36 GMT9
A long time ago I saved most of my HD onto a CD. But now I find many
of the docs won't open. They were mainly in Clarisworks, I now have
Appleworks, G4 iMac OS10.3.9, but when I try to open these docs
Appleworks opens up but then I get "an I/O error occurred." This

Apple Store Workshops13 Feb 2007 20:57 GMT15
This ought to be blindingly obvious, but it isn't.
Are workshops at Apple Stores bookable, or turn up and hope? If the
former, how do you book?
TIA,

if they were same as the spitfires, the british fighters in ww2.
Photoshop elements - worth shelling out for?13 Feb 2007 18:17 GMT7
I'm thinking of buying Photoshop elements for the Mac. I've been using
a Mac since October and while I love it I'm missing the drawing stuff
I used to be able to do in Flash on my PC. While I like iPhoto a lot I
can't just draw freehand in it, so I was thinking of getting Photoshop
