The company I work for use MS Outlook for internal email (no surprise

business via the web

Will MS Office X run on an Intel Mac?02 Nov 2006 00:34 GMT17
Googled the group but cant find a clear answer to this one.
I am thinking about replacing the old G4 tower with a core duo Mini.  I
have M$ Office X running fine on the G4 (Tiger) and just wondered
whether it will run at all on an Intel Mini.  If so are there any
Dead iBook - help?02 Nov 2006 00:17 GMT20
That's it, really: got a 600MHz G3 iBook with MacOS X 10.3.9 installed
on it.
It won't start up.  It'll go `bong', and the battery shows life, but
there's not a flicker from the `power' light, and nothing on the screen.

B+W G3 rev101 Nov 2006 23:35 GMT4
I was about to order a replacement HD for a friend's rev 1 B+W, when I
came across all the stuff (at xlr8yourmac.com, mostly) about data
corruption problems.
I thought at first the problem was restricted to slave drives, but if

Dear All
eBuyer were selling copies of Adobe Photoshop Elements v4 for Macintosh a

10.4 now or never?01 Nov 2006 14:23 GMT13
So, my eMac that I have loaned to my mates PC shop / iCafe last week
is being duly turned on every morning and turned off at night, so far,
unused (he did mention he had been asked if they had a Mac in the past
but not since having one. Isn't that always the way).
Using RAID0 on 10.301 Nov 2006 14:20 GMT12
I mean the soft RAID build into 10.3, not a proprietary solution.
So the point of RAID0 is that you have redundancy.  If one drive
dies, the other has all the data on.
But how does it work in practice?
<sing> Isn't it ironic ..01 Nov 2006 13:39 GMT32
So, in an effort to make the Mini more useable I bought a Canon
ip5200r (as recommended by at least one user on this very group) and
have just finished setting it up (hopefully selling the ip4000 to a
relative to offset the cost a bit). And it seems to be everything the
Mirror backup01 Nov 2006 12:23 GMT5
Continuing my OS X Server investigation, and having found RAID 5
software to be non-existant for Mac OS, Is there a means of
automatically mirroring one set of disks to another?
Eg, I have twelve equal-sized disks and want two sets of six, one set to
nildram01 Nov 2006 12:06 GMT23
I learn with disgust that the pipex ROT has set in at nildram.
I think we're off to zen. Anybody got any
