A friend has just shifted to adsl using BT. Her daughter has no known problems - using a Mac Mini and OSX. Barbara, on the other hand, is struggling slightly with elderly OS9 (prob 9.2) software on an old iMac.

Why is it that when I first start a .nzb download, I get a d/l speed which is 2 or 3 times faster than the speed it settles down to after the first 30 seconds or so? Starting a 400Mb d/l, it started at about 1100 KB/s - 1300 KB/s, then settled

I've noticed this several times now. After a few days of use OmniWeb's CPU usage rises to around 30%. If I restart the app' and it reopens with the same tabs, CPU usage then settles at around the 5% mark.
