iPod shuffle issues12 Nov 2006 08:36 GMT23
Am I in the right group for iPod questions?
I just got the new shuffle, but the shuffle plays some songs three or
four times and hasnt played about 30% of songs at all. Is this just the
machine reacting badly to my choice of music, or is there a setting

Open With menu11 Nov 2006 23:17 GMT1
Moving over to a new machine my Open With menu contains multiple
entries e.g. three Microsoft Word entries etc.
Is there any way to force this list to refresh? I've checked that there
are no multiple copies of the programs, for instance in the trash.

LInksys WAG354G Router Woes11 Nov 2006 20:05 GMT7
Bizarre behaviour from my Linksys router. I have a couple of machines on
my local network, one is my main computer and the other is my web server.
The router is set to forward ports 80 and 443 to the machine with the
web server on it. It has worked fine for a year or so but ...
Classic start-up ghost11 Nov 2006 15:33 GMT6
Dear All
I deleted the Classic System Folder from a client's machine. Now when it
starts up it complains about not being able to find a Classic folder - so I
guess that the system is still expecting to "Start Classic at System

10.4.6 update11 Nov 2006 09:30 GMT3
Is it possible to download a 10.4.6 Tiger update from Apple? I can only
find the current 10.4.8 update.
I'm presuming it's possible to run an older OSX on a MDD G4, either on
one of its internal drives or on a FW external - correct?
Outlook user complaining about attachments11 Nov 2006 03:49 GMT10
I'm getting a lot of grief off a chap who is not recieving email
attachments from me. I'm using Mail, under latest Tiger/ppc.
He's using Outlook, and says that my attachments always get replaced
with an ATTnnnnn.htm attachment that doesn't do anything of any use.

[semi-OT] USB floppy?10 Nov 2006 22:50 GMT25
It seems as if the floppy drive in my PC has decided to pop its
clogs, because suddenly (well, maybe not-so-suddenly, as I have
not tried this operation in some months) it won't accept format
instructions from OS/2: it's "not there" or "not available", or
