Just installed Firefox 2. What an improvement to the GUI - it doesn't feel like a Linux app any more! And they've put close boxes on the tabs at last. macfizz.

I have a .avi video file, from which I need to extract a short clip (to put in iDVD). The movie won't play in QuickTime PLayer - I get sound, but no video. It plays OK in VLC. It's an MPEG Layer 3.

I'm having a problem whereby I can't do anything with iPhoto 06 for about a minute after I start it up, due to it beachballing. I have since rebuilt the thumbnail cache, but it has made no difference. Any help appreciated; this is on a revA Intel iMac.

I have an iTunes(7) playlist which will not let me rearrange the tracks in it. It has to be alphabetical, no matter which column is highlighted, even if I rebuild it from the library track by track. All the other playlists are ok. Can anyone suggest a cure?

Some files in the trash refuse to be trashed because they (falsely) claim to be busy. (OS 9 INITs for example) One trick that may work (strangely enough)

I have a new Macbook on order and will want to transfer my iTunes library from my mini to the Macbook. IIRC there's an option on first boot to transfer settings from one Mac to another. I don't want to transfer everything, just iTunes. Can this do it?
