| another word on the subject of Belkin.... | 23 Oct 2006 10:00 GMT | - |
.... the safety fuse popped in a local thunder/lightning storm last Tuesday, in our 'surge protector'. I quickly removed all connections, went and bought another another one, as we would never use all the stuff without one, for long anyway.

| Locking a pen drive | 22 Oct 2006 23:35 GMT | 12 |
I've got a 512MB pen drive. Is there a way to password lock it? I think some of them come with Windows software that can do it but can't find a Mac utility. I bet there's a simple answer I haven't thought of. Any ideas?

| iPhoto Duplicates | 22 Oct 2006 23:14 GMT | 12 |
I seem to have made a complete hash of my iPhoto library at some point (moving between computers) and now have six copies of every photo. iPhoto reports 5060 photos. The original (2 MB) and two others of the same size with _1 and _2 appended;

| Parallels - can't use a network drive for installation | 22 Oct 2006 18:32 GMT | 7 |
Bit of a disappointment here. A bit short of disk space on the MacBook Pro, but I'd like to install a Vista beta/RC/whatever to see what the fuss is about. I hook up to gigabit ethernet o speed isn't a problem, select the location for creation of a virtual drive and...and...

| Works outing- dinner time | 22 Oct 2006 09:33 GMT | 35 |
I've ordered the restaurant. They say on the night they can do any combination of mild/hot (that's normal)/veggie, to order. I've said we would be there around 1900. The reasoning goes like this: it gives us a reasonable time at the show and for a pub afterwards, but

Heard an interesting thing at work today - another guy working there has a MacBook Pro, and he's suffered hard drive failure with it. Three times so far apparently... Cheers,

My mate has just given me an LG Flatron 17" monitor to use as a secondary display. I mainly needed it to use with Aperture, and it has already proven to be a real boon, being able to browse images, and make adjustments while viewing the product on a separate screen is really
