eye tv and airport02 Oct 2006 20:45 GMT4
has anyone ever come across a conflict between eyetv and airport ? I
have a new airport card installed and at times if I restart my eyetv
device registers no signal or else I have no wifi but eyetv... sort of
weird. If I disconnect the eyetv device the machine locks.

Airport express as wireless bridge?02 Oct 2006 19:59 GMT6
Quite fancy being able to stream music to my hifi, and I also need a
wireless bridge downstairs near the stereo for when I'm fixing PCs.
I have an existing wireless network via a Linksys WAG54G adsl router.
What I'm hoping is that an airport express will provide both, but from
FairPlay DRM not hacked02 Oct 2006 19:48 GMT-
It hasn't been hacked, but it has been "recreated", whatever that means
exactly.

Presumably Apple's private keys have been "recreated" somehow?
Finally - Tiger02 Oct 2006 19:01 GMT13
Finally I got my finger out and put Tiger on a partition on my Seagate.
Ran all the updates as well.
Have now put Photoshop 7 and Office 2004 on there, but not had a proper
play with them yet. No other apps as yet.
windows - > mac keyboard annoyance!02 Oct 2006 16:54 GMT4
There's probably a very easy answer to this, but...
If I'm navigating in Finder using the keyboard, and highlight a file
that I want to open using the cursors, then I'd have thought that
pressing ENTER would have opened that file.  It doesn't, it allows you
MacBook Pro saga: now online02 Oct 2006 16:50 GMT17
Well, it's just got so silly that I've put up the details to explain
how angry I am. Here's the link:

It's a Rapidweaver-created blog, which has no option for sorting

Apple/Crucial delivery02 Oct 2006 14:45 GMT-
I really cannot complain about either of these two:
Last Friday (29 Sept) I ordered a MacBook Pro over the phone from
Apple, then a 1GB Ram stick from Crucial.
As I didn't expect miracles I opted for the free, standard First
Unicode UTF-8 Fonts (particularly mono)02 Oct 2006 14:04 GMT5
Out of curiosity I was comparing a number of text editors to see how
they handled a UTF-8 demo file
<http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/ucs/examples/UTF-8-demo.txt>. This is
with the aim of finding a good Unicode editor/font combo - it will be

second power supply and would like to consider all the options.

Graphic Converter CMYK question02 Oct 2006 10:05 GMT4
I use GC for many years under Mac OS 8 & 9, and have just d/l-ed it to
use uner Tiger, for a specfic task, namely saving an image in CMYK JPG
format, as Photoshop does. The GC site says that it's a fairly recent
feature, but I've scoured the GC GUI to find what menu/buttons/clicks
