Anyone played with last.fm?
Is it worth bothering with? Is the software stable, and are the
recommendations useful?

iMovie and external drives03 Oct 2006 10:19 GMT2
Does iMovie play nicely with external drives?
I want to edit a fair bit of video and don't have enough space on my
internal drive for more than an hour or so of DV - but I do have large
external USB2.0 drive with *loads* of space, formatted as HFS.

External backup drive for lovely new iMac03 Oct 2006 08:52 GMT3
My lovely new 24" iMac deserves a lovely new external backup drive to
make clones. I have already got a FireWire LaCie d2, but it sounds like
a cement mixer, or a 747 taking off, so I just plug it in when I make a
backup, rather than leaving it on all the time to make automatic
Setting up new iMac with wireless keyboard and mouse03 Oct 2006 06:11 GMT6
A naive question, I'm sure, but ...
...how do you set up a new Mac with wireless kbd and mouse? Do you just
turn them on, and the Mac recognises them immediately when it boots the
very first time?

Bonjour / Rendezvous issues with router02 Oct 2006 22:45 GMT2
I've just bought a Netgear Wireless ADSL router DG834G.
Although connections to the internet work fine and I can connect to the
iMac as a file server, nothing appears to be working over Bonjour. In
particular, I am unable to print remotely or to connect to remote

A friend has a Mac and sends me messages in RTF but instead of
receiving coloured fonts etc., I get stuff like the following:
Haven't made</color><color><param>0000,0000,807F</param> anything
</color><color><param>0000,0000,FFFE</param>larger. Just different
