My brand new 24" iMac has started being flaky in its connection to the
internet, telling me that it couldn't find any trusted networks, or
that the attempt to connect to my router had failed. I have a wireless

OK, I'm not a Gavin chaps, I've done my fair share of illegal serial
numbers, but not any more, all my current software is legit - just in
case.
However, I've had to purloin a copy just to see if it'll work on my Mac.

So, thinking ahead re the Mini and the PC of getting a graphics tablet
for the graphicy daughter.
Knowing many Mac users are 'Artists' (in one form or another <g>) you
might be able to give me some practical feedback on said?

I've been tinkering with a 600 G3 iMac (10.3.9) that has FileVault
turned on.
Am I right in thinking that FV is generally a bad thing? The iMac seems
a bit sluggish/hesitant.

I listen a great deal to radio streams with iTunes, well, I used to

I use Versiontracker Pro to keep up with things, and am constantly
amazed at the speed updates come out for Vuescan. Seems to be damned
near every day - certainly if a week goes by without an update I get
suspicious...

What widget do I need to connect an external VGA (not DVI) monitor to my
iMac G5 17" 2.0 (rev B, not the iSight one)?
Can I get this from Apple or is this a job for fleabay?

I came across this tip on the Apple boards - it fixed the problem for me
instantly. The trick seems to trick QT into thinking your connection is
a lot slower than in reality.

Just put 10.4.8 on a G3 450 BW with 512 MB of ram. It seems to be much
faster than when 10.2 was on it. I know its purely subjective. but has
anyone else seen a similar effect.
