Homophobic messages - UK Law12 Oct 2006 08:24 GMT9
I post anonymously on usenet. (i.e. I don't use my own internet
account) (free neighbour hood hotspot!)
If I was caught, could I actually be sentenced for making statements

Southampton Apple Store on it way12 Oct 2006 07:43 GMT8
Was in the city-centre mall yesterday; great big black hoardings around
a recently vacated unit, with great big white Apple logo and apple.com
underneath.
Small window in contractors' access door. . . .
Glossy - or not?12 Oct 2006 07:28 GMT10
This 'ere MBP goes back to Apple tomorrow afternoon and I'd like the opinion
on whether I should stick with the standard screen, or go for the glossy one
when it comes to  the replacement.  Okay, it might have increased contrast,
but what about the reflectiveness - is it ...

Is it possible to use the open dialog in something like TextWrangler to

Is Apple going to make Adobe redundant? By making a newer better Photoshop11 Oct 2006 23:24 GMT-
Man Photoshop is so slow
Why don't Apple just roll out a new app. Why not call it iShopPhoto or
iPictureShop or something
Come on steve, write a fast app!
Graphics card upgrade?11 Oct 2006 22:55 GMT2
Ok, so now I have Aperture, and I'm very happy with it, I've spent the
last few days importing my existing photo collection (from iPhoto
mainly, and some loose ones), and reorganising them into a better
workflow.
Humax PVR to Mac11 Oct 2006 22:50 GMT-
I have a Humax PVR (Freeview, hard drive, two tuners). I would like to
transfer files from the Humac to my Mac.
There's a slow way that works on both Mac and PC, and a fast way that
currently works only on PC. One can't just connect up the Humax hard
Photoshop Elements 2 Mac OS X Tune-up11 Oct 2006 22:38 GMT1
I have ignored Photoshop Elements's moaning about this for about two
years, but I feel I ought to do something about it. I have no idea where
my installer CD is, so if the file isn't too large, could someone email
it to me perhaps? My version came with a Canon scanner.
How do non-techie Windows users find the learning curve?11 Oct 2006 21:59 GMT47
My Dad now has a Mac (20" Intel iMac). He's been using Windows since
3.1. He was going to wait for Vista before getting a new PC but has been
put off after reading some articles about it. He decided, without any
prompting from me, that a Mac would be a better choice. He figured that
Networking XP under bootcamp11 Oct 2006 21:46 GMT19
Help!  This is marginally OT (1) in that it's about XP under bootcamp:
The Mac sees the Airport Extreme network and gets an IP (in the 192.*
range) from my Netgear ADSL modem router, so all works perfectly.
The same hardware when booted into XP is a different matter - XP sees
Faggots & Toilets11 Oct 2006 21:45 GMT1
Faggots only use toilets to exchange AIDS infested semen.
If a faggot needs a sh.t, he takes it on his boyfriend's chest.
This is considered "normal" by faggots.
Odd usb problem11 Oct 2006 20:47 GMT-
I've got a mouse and keyboard that work fine on the Mac, and other
windows PC's.
Except for the laptop that I have for work. It comes up with errors
most of the time, saying that the device isn't working - sometimes it
