| Southampton Apple Store on it way | 12 Oct 2006 07:43 GMT | 8 |
Was in the city-centre mall yesterday; great big black hoardings around a recently vacated unit, with great big white Apple logo and apple.com underneath. Small window in contractors' access door. . . .

| Glossy - or not? | 12 Oct 2006 07:28 GMT | 10 |
This 'ere MBP goes back to Apple tomorrow afternoon and I'd like the opinion on whether I should stick with the standard screen, or go for the glossy one when it comes to the replacement. Okay, it might have increased contrast, but what about the reflectiveness - is it ...

I have a Humax PVR (Freeview, hard drive, two tuners). I would like to transfer files from the Humac to my Mac. There's a slow way that works on both Mac and PC, and a fast way that currently works only on PC. One can't just connect up the Humax hard

| Photoshop Elements 2 Mac OS X Tune-up | 11 Oct 2006 22:38 GMT | 1 |
I have ignored Photoshop Elements's moaning about this for about two years, but I feel I ought to do something about it. I have no idea where my installer CD is, so if the file isn't too large, could someone email it to me perhaps? My version came with a Canon scanner.

| How do non-techie Windows users find the learning curve? | 11 Oct 2006 21:59 GMT | 47 |
My Dad now has a Mac (20" Intel iMac). He's been using Windows since 3.1. He was going to wait for Vista before getting a new PC but has been put off after reading some articles about it. He decided, without any prompting from me, that a Mac would be a better choice. He figured that

| Networking XP under bootcamp | 11 Oct 2006 21:46 GMT | 19 |
Help! This is marginally OT (1) in that it's about XP under bootcamp: The Mac sees the Airport Extreme network and gets an IP (in the 192.* range) from my Netgear ADSL modem router, so all works perfectly. The same hardware when booted into XP is a different matter - XP sees

| Faggots & Toilets | 11 Oct 2006 21:45 GMT | 1 |
Faggots only use toilets to exchange AIDS infested semen. If a faggot needs a sh.t, he takes it on his boyfriend's chest. This is considered "normal" by faggots.
