A-B cables USB 1.1 = USB 2.0?31 Oct 2006 08:51 GMT19
I see the Canon printers don't come with a USB cable included, but I
have plenty of USB 1.1 A-B cables. Obviously the A side is compatible,
but is the B end of a USB 1.1 the same as a USB 2.0?

and it has all worked fine apart from an oddly large space between two
Wide pen tablet on 4x3 display?31 Oct 2006 00:26 GMT3
Hi All, (and especially those who are using Wacom Intous3 'wide'
models on std 4x3 displays)?
I just wanted to make sure that you *can* 'logically' map a wide
tablet to a 4x3 display?

I have a problem with the speed of web browsing.  I have one of the new
Intel iMacs - 2GHz Intel Core Duo and I have an ADSL wireless network

the latest software updates, etc.  1Gb Ram.  250Gb hard drive.
Spamache Spam Filtering30 Oct 2006 19:47 GMT4
I have been using the server-side spam filtering available from

this seems to have died in the last few weeks. Does anyone else use
this service and know if there problem? So far all my attempts to
Hogwasher (sending messages)30 Oct 2006 19:43 GMT-
After playing around with Unison for quite a while now I was surprised at the
lack of keyboard shortcuts to send messages in Hogwasher. A message window
has two buttons to send messages, queue and send - as far as I can tell,
neither of these have a corresponding option in the ...
Macbook problem / return question30 Oct 2006 19:27 GMT4
My macbook (approx 2 months old) has a problem with faint lines on the
screen. I bought it from the Apple Store in Regent Street while I was in
London but don't actually live near an Apple Store. Can anyone advise of the
proceedure of getting it repaired?

How many kernel panics is too many?30 Oct 2006 18:41 GMT9
My brand new 24" iMac is behaving badly. It has had 2 KPs since I got
it - both under the same circumstances - it tries to sleep, the fans
come on full blast, and it KPs. The log is not that illuminating -
something about "unhandled kernel trap exception". In comparison, my
Aperture and RAM requirements.30 Oct 2006 18:12 GMT-
After getting Aperture, I found I was again using VM at an alarming rate
(like 6 swap files at peak usage), and an amazing Page Out count, even
before running Elements, and with 2.5GB of RAM too.
I've just bunged another 2GB in, and it is now back to using no swap
