iWeb13 Oct 2006 20:53 GMT7
Does iWeb only give full value if it's linked to a .mac account?
What opinions there  here on the iLife 06 package?

Stay awake, please?13 Oct 2006 19:54 GMT2
Thanks to James Dore and Howaret Ings, I have set up my Mac to wake when
the modem detects a ring. I then create a tunnel over SSH and VNC over
that and tada! I'm controlling my Mac from anywhere without it having to
stay awake.
Guerrilla computing13 Oct 2006 19:02 GMT22
Not too long ago, I posted about the centre of Norwich having 200
transceivers for a free public wiffly system and that my ambition
was to update my 15"PB's 10.4.7 through it.  (Not having routine
access to broadband.)
Madonna is adopting a baby13 Oct 2006 18:48 GMT15
Do you think she's going to tell him he's adopted, or will she waits
until he grows up?

I played it years ago on an old Wintel 486 machine. I playing it tonight

Parallels upgrade13 Oct 2006 17:52 GMT-
For those whose are already using Parallels: yesterday (IIRC) I
received one of their newsmails, announcing an upgrade for Mac
and *spit*dows versions.  I think existing users get it free.
ADB ha ha ha13 Oct 2006 17:35 GMT1
I had dozens if not hundreds of ADB cables, and I gave them all away
with everything else when I cleared out my office.
Now I need an S-Video cable (i.e. just the kind of job which an ADB
cable would do) to connect my iBook to a TV... Bah.
parallels experts?  drive imagine...13 Oct 2006 17:22 GMT10
Bit OT, but here goes:
Has anyone tried taking an image of a running Windows system using
Ghost or Drive Image or similar, then restoring it to a Parallels "VM"?
I'm tempted to do this as an experiment to virtualise an existing PC,
Free space weirdness13 Oct 2006 15:38 GMT14
Hi ye folkes,
I recently binned some files from my main HD presently running OSX
10.4.8.
Upon "emptying" the "Trash" I my free space went *down*, rather than
Perfectly reflective bike paint13 Oct 2006 15:15 GMT5
Well, that would be a good idea, wouldn't it? A bike would stand out
beautifully under streetlights and headlights, scattering all the light
it caught in different directions.

Fireworks won't export13 Oct 2006 12:39 GMT1
Using Fireworks MX 2004 I'm quite capable of saving PNGs, but can't
export (tried both Gifs and Jpegs).
I get an error message "Could not complete your request" "File not
found". A quick google suggested a permissions problem

I'm just downloading a Flash video into Safari. Is there any way of
saving it to disc?

Printing to Airport Express via XP13 Oct 2006 10:58 GMT1
I have an Epson R800 connected to an Airport Express bases station. My
Power book and iMac can print to this machine wirelessly without any
problems but my XP Laptop cannot. My previous printer (Epson Stylus
830) was setup in exactly the same way and worked flaulessly from both
Latest IE and OE for my Mac13 Oct 2006 09:55 GMT7
I wonder if anybody can tell me the latest versions of Internet
Explorer and Outlook Express I should be using for OS 9.0.4?
Thanks in advance!!
What would you do...?13 Oct 2006 07:59 GMT-
..if one of your neighbors (who you thought was a friendly chap) came
out, admitted he was gay & fancied you.
What would you do?
Would you carry on as normal, or would you go out and buy a baseball
