This close to buying a MBP31 Oct 2006 23:26 GMT16
The recent changes to the MacBook Pro leave me literally teetering on
the edge of ordering up the 15" model. I like the idea of the better
screens (although I'll go matte I think), speed, apps such as
Crossover, Parallels etc. compared to a 3½ year old PBook G4.
Problem with all Apple print sharing31 Oct 2006 21:08 GMT-
I want to get printing working on both Macs here (iMac, 10.4.8, eMac 10.4.8).
Local printing on the iMac works fine to the USB attached HP DeskJet 5650.
I installed the DeskJet driver on the eMac, set up printer sharing on the
iMac.

And so it begins. Adobe has released a public beta of Soundbooth, an app
intended to make audio editing easy for non-audio professionals.

Does anyone have a copy of the Apple rebate coupon for buying a MacBook and
iPod together a month or so ago?
Need to send this off to get my £100 back, and can't find it online
anywhere. Hope I haven't missed the deadline!

Broadband problem with Virgin.net31 Oct 2006 14:08 GMT3
I recently swapped from dial-up to basic broadband with Virgin.net.  I
know that USB modems are not recommended but thought it would keep
things simple.  Installation and configuration went OK on my 500MHz
PowerPC G3 iMac/OS X v10.2.8.  The 'free' Speedtouch USB modem
Audio advice sought31 Oct 2006 13:06 GMT2
I'm after some podcasting advice. I'm trying to refine my setup a little and
increase the quality of the audio from my end of the line. There's two of us and
we each record our end of the conversation, while talking over Skype.
Recently I started to add extra sound samples and it's ...

Help.
I had this working before re-installing the OS a couple of months back
and I can't remember what I did to make it work.
I want to use the k750i as a bluetooth modem to access the Orange GPRS

Getting PS2 keyboard to work on G4 Powerbook31 Oct 2006 11:51 GMT10
Firstly a little background. I have been a Windows user for many years,
but early last year I got the opportunity to buy a Mac - through the
Government's now dead HCI scheme. Since then my 12" G4 Powerbook has
co-existed quite happily with the PC - which I can't get rid of for ...
10.4.8 - scroll zoom cool!31 Oct 2006 10:12 GMT30
Can't remember if this has been mentioned, but on 10.4.8 if you hold the
CTRL key down and scroll up (with the scroll wheel) it zooms.
Bloody wonderful.
Also works if you hold CTRL and use two-fingered scrolling on the Bokos.
