My son in law's HD is in the process of failing, alrthough it's still
working. He's saved the data he needs to save to an external drive and
wants to raplace his internal. He has a dual G4/450 (I think).
He's mailed me the following query:

includes an attachment in the reply, using Mail.app.
So far I have failed miserably. Any pointers?
MacBook vs MacBook Pro01 Sep 2006 18:49 GMT16
Following on from the various MacBook and MB Pro discussions, is there

using their Mac for graphics intensive purposes like CAD etc) in paying
the extra for the MB Pro over the standard MacBook?
Airports on PC?01 Sep 2006 18:35 GMT2
The old airports - the ones with the 56k modem in them - can they be
used with a PC for wireless dialup access?  My dad uses an XP laptop and

appears to be DOA - If you press the power button it lights briefly,
then goes out. The fan starts, and the HDD spins up. There is a red LED
on the motherboard, but nothing else - no startup chime and no screen

Crossover Mac - Windows apps without Windows01 Sep 2006 13:33 GMT4
Now this one's interesting. I only have a single Windows app to run, if
this can do it for me then I can save gigs of installation space.

Firefox better than Safari?01 Sep 2006 10:56 GMT4
Increasingly these days, I find myself turning to Firefox when Safari
doesn't seem to be behaving with certain websites as well as it might.
The last instance was with Blogspot where Safari doesn't show the text
editing bar. Also had a number of issues on holiday/hotel sites where

Apparently. It's listed as being signed for by my neighbour. I'm in
Dublin on a VMware course. Back tonight, so I'll get to play with it
then.

Probably old news, but Apple has apparently now set up its own open
source site, Mac OS Forge: <http://www.macosforge.org/>.
