Using Realplayer to playback maccast mp3 files - remembering playback position?11 Sep 2006 11:46 GMT4
I know that iTunes has the ability to 'remember' the playback point
(bit like having a bookmark - so you don't have to start at the
beginning of the book)
I was wondering if this was possible
Apple discrimates against Australians11 Sep 2006 11:31 GMT3
<http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=34153>
USians with duff batteries get immediate replacements and free mail-in
envelopes. Aussies have to get themselves to a dealer, hand in the old
battery, go home again, wait up to six weeks (maybe more), go back to

Today is another shared birthday; both Jonas Voss (who hasn't been
posting recently) and Debbie Wilson (who has).
Hope you both have a good time (and if the weather's anything like here,
you've picked a good day for it). Happy birthday!

using 5.1.  5.5 is damn fine.

I have a large number of digital video tapes (1hr, but compressed so
they each hold 1.5 hours) of the kids that I would like to transfer to
disk. As I have quite an old video camera I think my only option is to
read them into iMovie as new projects, then save them to disk. The last

The Apple iMac10 Sep 2006 22:56 GMT6
Greetings.  Looking for opinions of  Apple iMacs. Questions:
1. How do they stand up to other Macs?
2. I have a iBook G3 currently.  Do they heat up like iBooks do that require
a "cool down period?"
Is it worth the extra?10 Sep 2006 22:43 GMT4
To bump up a new iMac 17" from 2GHz to 2.16GHz would cost me £70.  Is
that a worthwhile investment?  Would I actually notice the difference?
I could spend £50 on bumping up the HDD from 160GB to 250GB instead, but
I didn't get near to filling the 60GB job on the PB...

How does Adobe activation actually work?10 Sep 2006 15:12 GMT2
I have one computer with Adobe CS2 on it. AIUI I am allowed to use it
on 2 computers, but not at the same time. If I now buy a second
computer and install CS2, what happens? Will it demand to be activated
on computer #2? Or what?
