HELP - iPod playlist playing in reverse order23 Aug 2006 11:22 GMT-
I've inherited my wife's iPod mini 4Gb which she used to run on Windows
XP. I plugged it into my G4 running iTunes 4.7.1 on OSX 10.3.8.
Everything worked. Fab. So wiped off all the music my wife had put on
the iPod and put on my own stuff.
Help! Macbook Pro22 Aug 2006 22:24 GMT7
I'm hoping this will ring a bell for someone and they can help me out.
Somehow I've turned off audio output from within my browser. The audio
works fine through I-Tunes and other applications but I've done
something to turn it off within Safari. I can't hear You Tube stuff,

Soundstick problem22 Aug 2006 19:46 GMT4
I may have asked something similar, a long time ago on a Macintosh far away,
but...
My soundsticks have started making the most ghastly clicking noise. I've
suffered the odd pop and click in the past (which was what the previous post

Does anyone use the Mulberry email client? It's now free, and looks
rather good - with the proviso that it _may_ not be developed further.

Where does cron job echo output get sent?22 Aug 2006 17:46 GMT5
I've written a shell script to backup certain MYSQL databases to a
compressed file. It also echos a bit of feedback to let you know what's
happening if you run it from a prompt.
If this get run a root crontab job, where does this echoed output go? Do
Converting an email to a todo task in Entourage22 Aug 2006 17:40 GMT2
One of the features demoed in Mail 3 in the recent WWDC keynote was
converting some text in an email into a To Do. In Entourage you can do
something similar by hitting <Ctrl>-t with an email highlighted. This
will produce a task from the email which you can edit as you like and

Mac Mini combo drives22 Aug 2006 14:02 GMT5
If Apple System Profiler reports that the contents of a
Mac Mini combo drive are a DVD-R, would that be enough
to confirm my suspicion that the disk in question is not
a DVD-ROM?
Apple repair being slow22 Aug 2006 13:17 GMT9
Grr. Still without my MacBook Pro despite them receiving it on the 7th
August. Web site just says 'repair in progress', phoning gets no
further information.
I've heard rumours, though for the life of me I can't remember which
MacBook Pro back: think it's now hissless?22 Aug 2006 11:02 GMT5
I'm in a slightly noisy office at the moment so it's hard to be
certain, but I think my machine is now without any hiss. It came back
from its dead hard drive experience with a note saying a different
version of the logic board had been installed and also new installation
Will an old 600mhz iMac be OK for broadband use?22 Aug 2006 10:25 GMT19
I have friends who don't have enough spare cash to buy a decent pc or
mac.
So I was wondering if I could suggest that they pick up an old iMac
600mhz for about £50 GBP from ebay and set that up. They ONLY want to
Battery Help Needed22 Aug 2006 07:47 GMT2
The battery in my G4 550 TiBook has finally given up the ghost after
many years of good service.
Even after twenty four hours plugged in not a single light will come on
on the battery pack and the machine won't boot even though its connected
