automated actions on a web site ?30 Aug 2006 09:43 GMT-
I'd like to retrieve my bank statements automatically from my bank
web site.
( I used iBank and I manually import in Quicken-formatted file )
How can I do this ?
USB Memory stick - Finder forgetfullness.30 Aug 2006 09:30 GMT5
Some time ago I bought a 1 GB memory stick for backup of important data.
It was formatted for Windows PCs, and I backed up an .sit archive to
avoid the usual compatibility problems.
If my Mac (10.3.9, G4) went to sleep when it was plugged in to the USB

Quicktime save going beep30 Aug 2006 09:22 GMT-
Not sure why this might be, and it's not causing hasle, but still.
I'm converting a load of DV footage taken when I was a PC user from
.avi into .mov containers, using Quicktime Pro. This is going fine, but
Each time I hit save and the progress bar appears there's a beep.
Streaming iTunes30 Aug 2006 09:20 GMT5
No 1 son wants to play his iTunes via his stereo from his G4 iBook
laptop (which has built in wireless and bluetooth) using wireless...
He has told me you can get a "card" which goes into the mini jack on
the back of his stereo, once installed he can connect via this,
Macbook calibration29 Aug 2006 23:04 GMT5
Got a Macbook recently, and besides a fruitless search for a newsreader I
can get to grips with, it's all been even better than expected.
One problem though, its about the calibration. The instructions say to
charge it up to 100%(until power lead light is green) first. I've done it

.Mac calendar Sync - Restrict to particular calendars29 Aug 2006 21:22 GMT-
I'm using .Mac (I know, I know) to sync the calendars of two Macs (one
Tiger, one Panther). At the moment, all the calendars on the two Macs
are sync-ed - is there a way of preventing some from being err sync'd?
Many thanks
Quicktime Player - New Settings dialog?29 Aug 2006 20:13 GMT2
Not seen this before. Quicktime Player crash trying to play a DiVX
file. It's done that on and off throughout the file, whether it's due
to the DiVX plug-in on the Mac being dubious or the original source
file being dubious I don't know. But that's not the point of the post.
Mac-Mac filesharing hiccup29 Aug 2006 19:31 GMT-
Okay, I've got a 2003 MDD 1.25GHz 2G4 (3 HDDs, 4 vols) running MacOS X

What difference will it make?29 Aug 2006 18:15 GMT9
The Core 2 Duo "Merom" processor that is.
Rumour has it that Apple may announce Merom-based MacBooks and MB Pros
as early as next week.  So, as a vaguely interested bystander[1], I'd
like to know how much better the new MBs will be?  Is the "big thing"
Applescript to register junk29 Aug 2006 18:15 GMT2
With the osx server spam catcher (which as I mentioned doens't work well
yet), you can redirect mail back to a junkmail account. However, there
are so many spams, I wanted to do an applescript to redirect mail to the
account.
Mellel 2.1 is out29 Aug 2006 17:41 GMT2
One for any fans of Mellel who may not have spotted that 2.1 is out.
The XML and new regex are the main points of interest for me.
