Guilty pleasures...07 Aug 2006 16:10 GMT19
Had to get Quasimodo (PBG3400C/240) out of his bag for the first time in
a few months today for a data conversion project. The old bugger runs
9.1. God damn its good to be back in 9!
Everything is crisp, clear, simple and the Finder still kicks OS X (even
Keynote stream?07 Aug 2006 15:32 GMT8
Have just been poking around the Apple site trying to find some info on
this. Will the keynote be streamed and if where's the link?
Thanks for any pointers!
Parallels really slow?07 Aug 2006 14:07 GMT-
I was a beta Parallels user, and found it to be great.  It was pretty slow on
my MacBook, with it's 512Mb RAM, but I upgraded that to 2Gb and all was well.
I then bought the full licence, but since applying it everything slows to a
crawl.
VMWare for OSX is a go!07 Aug 2006 13:42 GMT1

SeisMaCalibrate: a new Sudden Motion Sensor calibration tool07 Aug 2006 13:00 GMT-
I'd like to mention an application I've written for recent Macintosh
laptops (which have internal three-axis accelerometers).
SeisMaCalibrate calibrates your laptop's Sudden Motion Sensor so that
my previous application, SeisMac, can create accurate three-axis
Mac controllable reflecting telescopes07 Aug 2006 12:14 GMT13
Are any of the Meade or Celestron reflecting telescopes controllable
from a portable Macintosh. Powerbook or Macbook. I'd like it to be able
to centre the telescope on a known star like Sirius A and be able to
use software on the Mac to do something like "Find M31". It should ...
Pleasant surprises...07 Aug 2006 10:46 GMT3
Changing the HD on a 17" Powerbook is an absolute pleasure compared to
the 12 or 15" models, or any iBook. Lets all campaign for big laptops.
Neverwinter nights - no sound07 Aug 2006 10:03 GMT-
I used my bluetooth headset with the mac the other day, just for a short
while as a headset (obviously).
Thereafter, a bluetooth message popped up saying it couldn't find the
audio device, and NWN refused to play any sounds.
