| Beige G3 and all in one | 15 Aug 2006 09:28 GMT | 3 |
For a friend I'm looking for a all in one Printer/Fax/Scanner that will work on a beige G3 running system 8.5 or 9.0 ?. The G3 has had a USB card fitted. The all in ones I have seen are OSX only. If we have to, will the G3 be able to run OSX. It has 768MB, the HD has been upgraded. ...

| Least CPU hogging browser? | 15 Aug 2006 03:13 GMT | 6 |
Which is best for not chewing 20,30,40% of the CPU when you're not using it? Camino regularly does this, as does Safari. How's Firefox in this regard, or Omniweb, Opera? Seems a bit stupid to use all that CPU, making the CPU temp go up by 10C and

| Now that's a neat trick. | 15 Aug 2006 01:56 GMT | - |
I was experimenting with my iDisk settings, and used the Sync mode to have an offline version (it's only one gig, so not too much disc space). I thought I'd try bunging my MacSOUP folder into the Documents folder on my iDisk, and then alias it to my user Documents folder. It worked ...

| iTunes w/Remote Music | 14 Aug 2006 23:29 GMT | 4 |
I've transferred all my music from my local drive on to a shared drive hosted on a second machine. It all works well except the music gets interrupted whenever I try to do anything, e.g. open a URL in Safari or when Mail sees if there is

| Simple CD label maker? | 14 Aug 2006 22:16 GMT | 20 |
Can anyone recommend a decent, simple to use, CD/DVD label design package that my kids can use? We've tried disclabel but, frankly, we couldn't make it work. I suspect this was more our fault than the designers of the package but the UI was

| Now I see the point of .Mac | 14 Aug 2006 15:56 GMT | 45 |
Righto, I'm just about done with installing stuff on the iBoko, and looked to the best way to transfer my user data from the G5 (only the important stuff, like addresses and such). Hmm, a 60 day trial of .Mac might do. I had only intended to use this

| HOW MANY APPS?!?! | 14 Aug 2006 08:41 GMT | 20 |
Found 'Todos" (via CrazyAppleRumors). I use TigerLaunch, but this looks good for those "I know I've got it, but I don't know where it is" moments. I *think* it looks everywhere (not just the Apps folder). But that pic shows someone with about **300** apps on his/her HD. You just ...

| Problem with latest Firefox | 14 Aug 2006 08:20 GMT | 15 |
After many happy years with Firefox 0.9 I found that it would not display properly the new-style yahoo home page. Although this was not a big deal, I took it as a sign that I should upgrade. So I now have Firefox 1.5.0.6 on my MDD G4 with OSX 10.3.9.
