iTunes Metadata31 Dec 2005 23:32 GMT1
I have a big iTunes library, I have some songs rated etc.  I've just got
a new HD and it has a new name.  So iTunes now can't find any of my
songs.  If I add the tunes back in by dragging them in then I just get
duplicates, one with a star rating that wont play and the 'new' unrated
PowerMail Demo Limitations31 Dec 2005 23:05 GMT8
Just wondered, what are the limitations on PowerMail if the demo period
expires?
Disappointed at the glacial pace of Mailsmith development I am trying
PowerMail again as it has been recommended here frequently. The 'send' option

Happy Christmas everyone31 Dec 2005 21:41 GMT88
Happy Christmas[1] everyone. Have a good holiday, and see you/talk/write with
you sometime next week probably.
It's been a good year, work and home. Got married, made enough money to live
on, met some great clients, got work for next year, went to Italy twice,

Q but not a question?31 Dec 2005 19:23 GMT16
I've been playing around with qemu on my Linux box for a couple of
months. It's a free emulator like VMware and Virtual PC that allows me
to run Windows for testing stuff and test Linux distros without having
to mess about with partitioning my hard drive.
ukonline "unable to connect" message31 Dec 2005 18:11 GMT6
over past couple of months my Internet connection with Ukonline has
been to say the least very temperamental.  Using XP on a laptop or ME
on a desktop, I find some days I cannot get connected.  It dials but
then gets message "verifying username etc" then after a minute get
Extracting a scene from a DVD31 Dec 2005 17:34 GMT4
I have a family DVD made from VHS tapes, the tapes have long gone. I want to
extract a scene from the DVD so I can work with it in iMovie. I have tried
importing the DVD into iMovie, I get picture with no sound.

Can I ask what newsreader you are all using - finding entourage particularly
confusing - any recommendations ?

Best Browser?31 Dec 2005 17:23 GMT29
For the last couple of years I have been in a bit of a rut with my main
software using Word, Entourage and Safari.  As good as these are I am going
to take a look at alternatives and I was wondering about brower
recommendations.

Happy Christmas.
B&W G3 Mac won't boot31 Dec 2005 12:12 GMT4
Just today my daughter tried to start up her B&W G3 Mac and there was
no chime, and the machine wouldn't boot.  Alternately the Mac face and
a question mark icon display on the screen.  I do hear the hard disk do
its startup routine.  Pressing Command+Option+p+r does nothing.  We
COT: - Trainline again31 Dec 2005 06:09 GMT4
I've just looked up a journey from Gerrards Cross (where I live) to a
friend's in the little village of Barrowford (near Nelson) in East
Lancashire.
I entered the details (Nelson is the nearest station) and was informed that
Bye bye "Intel Inside"31 Dec 2005 01:32 GMT13
It looks like we won't be seeing "Intel Inside" stickers on the x86 Macs
after all: <http://www.channelregister.co.uk/2005/12/30/intel_leap_ahead/>.
"Leap Ahead" is arguably even worse though.
