does the same job as MS Visio for Windows? I've tried googlein it but
can't see to find much.

Long file names in Word18 Jan 2004 19:26 GMT2
Has anyone figured out a solution to the problem with MS Word file
names - the 32-character limit, that is? I have to exchange files with
PC-using colleagues frequently and it can be a real pain. The main
problem is that when Word reads in a document with a long filename it
Mac OS X DesignJet experiences18 Jan 2004 16:38 GMT3
A client has a DesignJet that, when you try to print to it from a Mac,
appears to be accepting data, but then drops back into a Ready state.
The Mac meanwhile thinks it has done all it needs to do.
If you try to communicate with the printer the Mac sits there waiting
Burning CDs - advice needed18 Jan 2004 14:39 GMT1
With a bit of luck, my new PowerBook should arrive by TNT tomorrow.
Horray! I'm currently scoping out what bits of software I'm going to
need to get.
From my experience with Macs in the past, I've always used Toast for
Airport printing woe18 Jan 2004 09:49 GMT2
I have recently acquired an Airport Extreme base station. I haven't
actually tested the WiFi bit of it yet, because I haven't yet got an
Airport card for my TiBook (it's in the post). However, I do have my
iMac plugged into the LAN port, and my cable modem into the WAN port,
FS: Powerbook G3 'Pismo' 400MHz18 Jan 2004 06:32 GMT35
This is probably Apples best Powerbook offering all the right ports (2x
USB, 2xFirewire, VGA, S-Video) and decent expansion (drive bay expansion
modules, Cardbus, removable CPU card) in a lovely black body.
This ones has 1GB of RAM, a 20GB Fujitsu HDD with Panther installed and
Unbelievably bad AppleCare Service18 Jan 2004 03:47 GMT7
I've just got to post this because I have to let off steam about
Apple. I'm based in the UK by the way.
My iBook developed a fault - and so I contacted AppleCare - that was a
mistake as the rest of this post will show.
What have I missed (PPP TCP/IP)18 Jan 2004 03:24 GMT31
Yesterday afternoon I went to change my father's LC475 (OS7.6) to a new
ISP dialup connection which I had already set up for him.
I put the new username, password, dialup number, pop3 and SMTP settings
etc into the PPP and TCP/IP control panels.  Changed the settings in
Calling heavy Quark users......18 Jan 2004 00:42 GMT27
Ok. So you use Quark a lot. Its the first program you open when you start
up. You import PDF, TIFFS, .docs, and JPGs, you auto-activate your fonts.
Document are normally more than 20 pages. You're 'kin hard.
How often a day will Quark crash on you? Like to know what OS , what v.
MSN messenger not connecting18 Jan 2004 00:01 GMT1
My partner has an iMAC using OS9.0 We tried to upgrade to 9.2 but it caused
so many problems we reloaded OS9.0.  We have a Ethernet broadband connection

though the internet connection is open for IE. I tried ...
newbie question: squeezing the most out of old iBook17 Jan 2004 21:04 GMT4
My other half has a basic iBook 300 running Mac OS 8.6 with 1.8Gb disc
space available. I don't know if it has 32Mb or 64Mb RAM.
New software which she needs to install is asking for a later OS. Also
much of the web software on it is very old and doesn't work quite right
iPod Mini17 Jan 2004 20:05 GMT40
OK, I don't see the point of the iPod mini, unless you have a real space
shortage.
The colours are too plasticy and its only $50 cheaper than the 15Gb full
ipod.
Am I being thick? (Polite answers only, please!)17 Jan 2004 19:20 GMT6
I want to install Panther on my Powerbook. I don't want to join the
many people on the Apple forum complaining about the screen going black
and turning the PB into a rather expensive tea tray.
So, it seems that most of the problems are ATI video based. How do I

AppleScriptArt - George Bush turns to Mars17 Jan 2004 17:29 GMT7
I've used AppleScript to turn Dubbya into an art movie.

(It's a 750k QT movie)
I find it strangely soothing to watch...
