I tried the Mobileme trial and have abandoned it. The iDisk icon remains on the dektop. I cannot get rid of it. I can turn off "external disks" in finder prefs but that turns all disks off. Any ideas as to how to get rid of this annoying mobileme disk icon much

I have the Elgato Video Capture device which I am using to transfer VHS tapes to my Mac so that I can make DVDs from them. Works pretty well, but the DVDs have only a single, two-hour-long, chapter in them. I am running Video Capture -> iMovie -> iDvd (iLife 08).

Sometimes Finder fails to start when I log in. A couple of other apps also fail to start but Finder is the big problem. A restart usually solves the problem, but not always. Sometimes I get the circle with a slash through it. Then I have to restart from shutdown.
