Running a late '09 iMac with 10.6.2 with wireless KB (WKB) &
magic mouse (MM).
As the MM sucks up battery power if left on, I have gotten into
the habit of turning off the power when I know I'll be away for

I am having trouble with my Time Machine. To make a long story short, is it
possible to introduce a new external hard drive with another name, run that
as the Time Machine disk for awhile as a test, and then return to the
original Time Machine external disk drive? Or, will my MacPro ...

Has anyone here tried to install KDE (with Qt) on Snow Leopard?
I'm not interested in using KDE as my desktop (I prefer Aqua); I just need
to run some KDE/Qt-based applications on Snow Leopard.
Some of the aforementioned applications work only under KDE3/Qt3, while

Googling for installing RAM in an iMac G5 gets lots of YouTube and
other hits but they all are with the first breed of iMac G5s which had
an easy open case.  I need info on the iMac G5 where a credit card

Any recommendations for Mac friendly NAS disk other than Time Capsule?
Compatible with Time Machine a plus but not a requirement. I do have a
Airport Extreme but I don't want to have to get a USB hub to add a
drive to it. I've got a printer attached at the moment.

even he doesn't get it! In the time of vinyl people never thought the CD
would replace those phonographic records. The CD came and went (sort of)

Installed a NAS this week and began making copies of photos from the
Mac.  (These are also on a separate ext. drive via TimeMachine).
The copy of the "Photography" directory which is eclectic in file types
included a massive amount of scanned and digital imaged I've made.

For some reason those using FireFox are unable to see the entire button
to call me using Google Voice. However in Safari all looks well. But
sadly few use Safari and most use MS or FF. What about you?

If I am in a house without internet, and tether my laptop to my phone,
could I then get the laptop to become a wi-fi hotspot so that someone
else could share my internet access ?

I hear that Office 2008 is slower than 2004 under SL. But can anyone
verify this besides the person that said this? 2004 is sluggish at times
and I wish to get a native version. But I will wait until Office 2010
for Mac if need be.
