On Friday at the Macworld Expo 2010 in San Francisco,
the Star Trek rock band, Warp 11, played four numbers
for the live, on-stage Leo Laporte show.  In introducing
the band, Leo spoke about the Video Toaster and had a

So how would you compare this environment with? Is it more like Classic
or Sheep Shaver? Sheep Shaver can run OS 9 apps but in its own window
and emulator while Classic runs the apps within OSX.

Please - how can I tell Snow Leopard to not intercept any function
keys???  I've just switched to a Mac and still use WinXP and Linux and
use emacs and xemacs on all three.  I am used to assigning functions to
the function keys (and shift-function, alt-function, etc), but OS/X is ...

My X11 just crashed unexpectedly (a very rare occurrence, until
recently), and after restarting it, I'm no longer able to start
X11 programs from Terminal. I killed and re-started both Terminal

I bought a copy of Civilization IV for the Mac, and was somewhat
annoyed to discover that it requires you to have the DVD in the
drive whenever you play it, despite having copied gigabytes of files
onto the hard disk.  I assume this is intended as a copy protection

For some reason my PDF files, word files and such have gone back to the
Tiger look. Perhaps this will be fixed by rebooting as there is no way
to rebuild the desktop in X.
Also for some reason correcting disk permissions in Snow Leopard takes

I walked over to my wife's computer and shared a new directory.
I walked back to mine, and now I have three shared computers that ask
me for a name and password.    I tried some variations of my computer
name and hers and my password and hers, but haven't guessed right.
