I've got a G5 PPC tower running OS10.4.

Why does Acrobat require an Admin password to startup?  I just
installed it and it requires this each time for some unknown reason.

I'm looking for recommendations for backup software and hardware for my
wife's Mac G5 (OS 10.4).
She was previously backing up to DVDs using Retrospect 6, but her full
backups (200GB) were using about 15 disks and taking many hours to perform.

I wish apple would make an iCal that displayed the current date!
Let's hope this feature will be available in 10.6

Dear friends:
My DVD Player can play only one DVD after each reboot. The first DVD
played after booting works OK. After that, every other one shows a
green screen for ever, but the audio can be heard OK.

I have a 20" imac G5, 2.1 ghz that is shutting down inexplicably with no prior
warning. It's been doing this for about 2 weeks now, more and more frequently.
I picked through the log and found this:
AppleSMU -- shutdown cause = 2

This one is really not that big of a deal, but it annoys me that I
can't figure it out.  I've installed the chess app, Gambit, and set my
system up to use it for all files that end with .pgn.

Since I got my iMac almost 2 months ago, they have bombarded me with
spam. To every spam message, I have clicked on the "remove me from your
list" option and asked to be removed. I've also called Apple Customer
Support twice and been assured that I have been removed from their ...

When it comes to networks I don't know squat.  From home I normally log into my
office via a term window using ssh.  My IT Administrator has informed us that
as of the end of July we will no longer have ssh access but will have to use
vpn to connect to the office.

I've noticed this in Sys Prefs/Sound in the last few days.  Anybody know
what could cause it?  I used to be able to control the balance but no
more.  Also the standard Audio selection is not there.  Just the
firewire M-Audio and the USB iMic.
