MightyMouse setting button4 as right click23 Jul 2008 20:24 GMT7
Just got a new wireless MightyMouse for my wife (as a PC user I use the
right mouse button all the time).
Her fingers seem to naturally rest with one on each side of the scroll wheel
so she is getting a lot of accidental right clicks instead of left clicks. I
latest iTunes and the music store23 Jul 2008 14:44 GMT42
Why does Apple insist on turning on the iTunes store with iTunes updates?
I just installed 7.7.  I now have a STORE/dowloads item in the left hand
selection menu beneath LIBRARY and above PLAYLISTS.  Despite having the
iTunes Store disabled in Parental Preferences, I still have ...

digitalr0gue mentioned this here, about halfway down the page:
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=115873
"I think the only reason they haven't yet is the $900 mil (or so)
bail-out deal IBM and M$ made with Apple several years ago. Part of that

Ethernet USB Print Server?23 Jul 2008 03:00 GMT12
I want to put my Epson R260 on my home wired network.
Anyone use a particular Ethernet <> USB Print Server that
is Mac friendly and that they are happy with and would
care to recommend?
Why did they do this?22 Jul 2008 20:30 GMT18
My MacBook came with 1 gb of  ram, in the form of two 512 cards filling
both slots. Why didn't they just fill one slot with 1gb so I can just
add another gb without having to purchase another extra 512 worth in
order to max out to 2g? This way you have to subtract ram in order to ...

the features with 10.5 (Leopard), I have bought that software but all
is not well.
Can't get Blue & White to recognize system disk22 Jul 2008 12:59 GMT3
A Blue & White my son had been using with OS X was replaced by a faster
one, and he just pulled the disk from the old one and stuck it in the
new one -- worked fine.
The problem has been with attempts to get a new disk, with a new system,
SSH and Firewall22 Jul 2008 05:00 GMT4
Since tcpd is no longer in OSX (it was gone in 10.4), what can be used
to limit access to /usr/sbin/sshd?  I want to do something like TCP
Wrappers' /etc/hosts.deny and /etc/hosts.allow files.
I realize that the Firewall can be used in a similar manner but now I
Sharing iTunes library and database files21 Jul 2008 18:59 GMT3
I know I can share my library in a network (the library would reside on
a server) keeping separate library files on each machine.
How about sharing the database files, too? No, I don't want to sync them
among the different machines, but I'd like to keep the files where the
Setting Up Microsoft Exchange on Mac OS X Server21 Jul 2008 18:01 GMT4
Is it possible to set up an Exchange server using Mac OS X server? If
so, I would really appreciate some direction. I've been searching
online for ages now.
Thanks!
What's the best VNC freeware now?20 Jul 2008 21:49 GMT16
Okay, I haven't used VNC software that much but I did have it on all
the iMac G4s in my lab.  Now I've got iMac C2Ds and want to install
VNC again.  What should I use?
HELP: Internet Connection20 Jul 2008 20:48 GMT2
I'm new to MACs and now have a machine running 10.4.3. I cannot get it
onto the internet. It will ping my other machine and various web sites but
not my gateway. Safari refuses to open anything and Mac software update
fails. Network diags says it can't fix the problem. What could ...

F4 @ F5 volume keys....20 Jul 2008 19:03 GMT2
I asked this in another Mac Group, but so far they have declined to answer.
Neither key will increase/decrease volume level.  Nor does the bar show up
on desktop. Don't know what if anything I did to cause this. Unable so far
to find anything in Help or Robin Williams' Leopard book. ...
