Next time, I tried to 'Verify Permissions' just to see what would

how to print a large image on, say, six sheets of 8.5x1106 Jul 2008 11:13 GMT4

image on 8.5x11 sheets.  The image is 3143x2657 at 72 DPI.  Could
anyone tell me how to print this?  I'm running Leopard and have CS1
and CS3 available to me.  Thanks if you can help.
Normal to see Backups.backupdb as a folder on a Time Machine drive?06 Jul 2008 11:11 GMT4
Is it normal to see Backups.backupdb as a folder on an external HD used
for Time Machine? I'm surprised it's not showing up as a bundle. It
seems like this makes the backup too easily messed with by newbies and
software that looks for an available app and doesn't care where it's
Getting files from floppies?06 Jul 2008 01:28 GMT17
I have a number of old floppies that I'd like to salvage. I also have a
Toshiba USB floppy drive. My problem is that the Toshiba sounds like
it's working but it won't show up on my desk top (or in Disk Utility).
Anyone have any ideas how to deal with this?

Does anybody know of some instructions for copying Laserdiscs to DvDs
using a Mac?   I Googled some detailed instructions using Windows, but
not for Macs.

Desktop Clutter -- Why?04 Jul 2008 21:31 GMT116
I have a number of acquaintances whose Mac desktops are a literal sea of
icons, sometimes containing well over a hundred, sometimes arranged by name,
sometimes arranged randomly, and whose docks contain so many icons that the
size of those icons is minute. I fail to see how such ...

Is there a way to view the Time Machine graphic without the obstructing
finder window? It would be a nice screen saver.

AOL does it right?04 Jul 2008 19:40 GMT6
For most of my mail chores I use Mac Mail, although I still have an
account with AOL as does my wife. I was very surprised when I
downloaded and installed the new AOL Desktop for Mac. It has a very
neat and clean appearance.
