Back to My Mac & Verizon Fios Router25 Jun 2008 02:17 GMT8
The .mac Preference Pane in all of my Macs reads, inter alia, "Back to
My Mac...not working...requires a router that supports NAT port mapping
protocol (NAT-PMP) or Universal Plug and Play...Make sure...
I've logged into the router and don't see a way to activate NAT-PMP.

Font problems with TextEdit and OmniOutliner Pro24 Jun 2008 22:21 GMT43
When I hit Cmd T in TextEdit or OmniOutliner Pro, both apps essentially
freeze up. It can take a minute for the dialog box to appear, and then i
can't change fonts or attributes.
Fonts work OK in InDesign and Photoshop.

might be damaged and I then get a "no mountable filesystem" error. But
SproutCore24 Jun 2008 16:14 GMT6
Word up peepz! did you hear that Apple has invented SproutCore. It was
announced at the end of WWDC on Friday last week.
I don't know what it is or what it does but it's supposed to be da
bomb (which is urban slag for saying it's 'fandabbydozy').
Restarting Time Machine24 Jun 2008 12:37 GMT12
Can anyone give me a terminal command to restart the Time Machine daemon
(backupd)? Sometimes it gets stuck "backing up 0Kb of 5Mb" or similar
and never progresses. I can fix things by rebooting but would like to
avoid that.
Logs?24 Jun 2008 06:47 GMT12
Occassionally, like any computer a program on my G5 iMac Power PC
crashes.  There's usually not a problem in restarting the program, but I
would like to know why this has happened.  I understand that the log
will tell me this,

Hi everyone.  Just jumping into OSX now (I know, I know...) so please
don't flame me.
If I buy a Samsung CLP-300, can I print to it from apps in Classic mode?
Thanks much.

Memory Problem on PowerBook G4 PPC23 Jun 2008 20:28 GMT3
I still have my PowerPC G4 laptop Powerbook from 2004. I was wondering
if anyone has experienced a phantom memory module.
I have 1G memory in the upper slot any 512 MB memory in the lower slot
but only the 1G memory in the upper slot is recognized.
Is Steve Jobs ill?23 Jun 2008 05:57 GMT27
Word up peepz,
I didn't watch the keynote. I obviously heard the news reports and the
highlights of WWDC 2008.
Some people were saying Steve Jobs looked ill: perhaps as ill as a
MacBook's keyboard lags behind, any suggestions please?23 Jun 2008 01:55 GMT9
I have had this MacBook (2.4 GHz, 2 GB, 160 GB) since mid-March but I've
been using it more intensively only recently. I was hoping that these
problems I'm about to describe would get better with OS X updated, but
it doesn't sound like it.
It's official22 Jun 2008 23:10 GMT60
Jobs said that the next version of Mac OS X will be named "Snow
Leopard", and that is all he said about it during his two-hour keynote
address at the Worldwide Developers Conference.  Anything else about
will be in the actual sessions, which will all be under a DNA.  But I'm
