I have an HP psc 750 printer. It is connected wirelessly (via a PC) because I have an iBook. Today I needed to scan something so I connected the printer directly to the USB port. I've recentlty installed Leopard 10.5.2 and the wireless printer works

The copy of Leopard that came with my new MacBook Pro will not install on my Dual 1 GHz G4 Quicksilver. Early in the installation, the Installer says Mac OS X will not install on this computer. Can anybody offer an explanation of why it won't install?

| MacWrite to MS Word? | 02 Apr 2008 18:45 GMT | 5 |
Please forgive me up front - I'm sure this kind of question has been asked before but a quick search didn't reveal an answer. I have a broken Mac SE circa 1989. I have about 50 Mac diskettes containing documents written between 1984-1997 in MacWrite and an

| Copying the system/boot disk to another disk ? | 02 Apr 2008 16:58 GMT | 12 |
I am about to change my system disk on my 10.4/tiger Mac. I'll plug the new disk in and copy the old disk to the new disk, then unplug the old disk. On the old MacOs, once simply needed to drag one disk over the other disk. No need to worry about permissions, locked files etc.

| Possible with Spotlight? | 02 Apr 2008 14:30 GMT | 1 |
I'd like to see Spotlight's content index for one particular file. Is this even possible? mdls from the command line seems to give you access to a file's metadata, but is there an equivalent for the content index?

I'm often using MS Word 2008 as a notepad and frequently have to copy and paste text over to a web page. Word inserts spaces at the end of the line when none are there (really - none are there). Is there any way of preventing this? I really don't want to switch if I don't have ...

| How Apple makes you pay for free software | 02 Apr 2008 02:07 GMT | 19 |
This was a message to Ian Gregory, but it's a very old thread, I took quite a lot of time to reply and the matter seems important. (Only to me, of course, so you may ignore this thread completely.) First, it begins with a welcome back to my good friend Ian:

| When you create a Smart PlayList (iTunes) and you select 'add 9GB of tracks by random' how often does it change the playlist contents? | 02 Apr 2008 02:00 GMT | 4 |
What if I had this Smart Playlist and I wanted a DIFFERENT 9GB of tracks (from my vast library) on each sync? Or what if I didn't want to hear it if I had played it in the last week (for example)?
