How does one open an iMac G5 (iSight)?25 Mar 2008 15:48 GMT2
Okay, I'm talking about all iMacs following the first model of the
iMac G5.  That first iMac G5 was easy to open but I guess after that
Apple decided to make it even harder to open an iMac than a Mac Plus.
I love user-friendliness, don't you?
DOWNLOADING PICS TO CD'S TO BE READ BY PCS25 Mar 2008 15:25 GMT11
I have an IMAC G4 running under OS10.4.  Is there a way for my to make
CD's of my photos to share with my family members who have PC,s.
Do I need to purchase software to do this or can I do it from my Mac?

Mac rack hardware/chipsets..25 Mar 2008 14:43 GMT11
I want a Mac combined workstation/server in a 2U rackbox.  An Apple
rackserver is simply too expensive, too noisy and not lowpower, so I
need to discuss motherboards, chipsets, cpu and video semilar enough to
a Mac not to create too many problems.

Airport Express & WPA: should I expect this to work at all?25 Mar 2008 09:34 GMT3
I have an existing wireless network, which uses WPA2, the access point
is a Netgear WG602.
I bought an Airport Express with the intention of using it for
Airtunes.  I'm configuring it from a Mac running a fully-patched
Lock hard drive?25 Mar 2008 05:54 GMT2
I'm getting  a new Mac Pro soon, and will be installing everything from
scratch.  However, I would still like access to my old HD for a while to
make sure everything is cool before I format it.
So my plan is to simply put the old HD in one of the spare drive bays.
Is it me, or are people just NUTS?!?!?25 Mar 2008 05:48 GMT27
I know I said something like this about 6 months ago, give or take, but
it seems to need saying again...
So I'm looking through eBay listings, thinking about breaking down and
picking up a retail copy of 10.4 to get around that damned
Anybody else crashing a whole bunch in Leopard?25 Mar 2008 05:46 GMT1
I've been using it for about a month and I'm crashing an average of
about 5 times a day.  (I'm a major power user, running several
applications at once until they start to slow down and then have to
restart several times a day)
Re: Mac on a PC network25 Mar 2008 05:43 GMT1
The only solution I know of is PC MacLan from Miramar (www.miramar.com).  I have 7 computers on my network, with 4 running XP, 2 Macs, and a couple of Win 98 machines that I use for storage.  PC MacLan has worked well for me for over 10 years.
Make sure you get the version that ...

Problems with su/sudo25 Mar 2008 01:33 GMT87
When I set this G5 power PC iMac up I did so with user Gary with his own
password and Admin G Blount with his own pasword.
When I install software the OS asks me for Admin and password and I give
it G Blount and his admin password and all installs well.

directory in VM Fusion running Windows?
