word up peeps,
i've been using my iPhone. I think it's dope and that but every time
it detects the slightest change i get a pop-up message in iTunes
saying '1 new item - Allow?'. Why does it want to ask me permission

Since I updated from 10.4.10 to 10.4.11 on my G4, I've been getting the
occasional kernel panic - particularly when trying to wake the Mac up
after a long sleep.  Under 10.4.10 I never got any.
Has anyone else noticed this?

I'm curious if anyone here knows what apple's european market share

Simple but annoying problem:
I have a DVD that previously mounted and played (it's video dvd) just
fine on my PB G4 17" 1gz.
It works fine on my old titanium 500mhz, and on my genuinely saintly

Yesterday, I finally got a 500GB disk hooked up to my Mac and started
using TM with it. So far, it works pretty much as advertised. But there
was a bit of a surprise for me.
I discovered that TM only does backups while someone is logged in.

My Mac (Mac OS 10.4.11) is connected to a PC network through
AppleTalk.
The problem is that I can't transfer to my Mac from any of the other
PC, files larger than 2 Gb.

I have just encountered a new behavior in 10.5.2
I run Terminal on my Mac and have several SSH sessions going with Linux
hosts.  These are command-line terminal sessions (not X windows), for

After the recent update from Apple, the web server on my Mac mini
(Intel) won't start. When I log in as root in Terminal, I get the
following message:

At the moment, I need to press command-k to connect. I then have to
select all the messages then press the icon with the DIAMOND on it (by
diamond I mean like the symbol you would find on the ace of diamonds
when playing cards)
