keyboard layout for accents19 Mar 2008 05:22 GMT3
I found on the internet that you can use the option+e combination to
put accents like áéíóú and option+n for ñ. I was wondering if there is
a better way to do this? In Ubuntu for example, you change the layout
of the keyboard and you can switch back and forth depending on your

Corporate Paranoia19 Mar 2008 01:13 GMT28
I just downloaded the DiskWarrior 4.1 update.  To download it, I had to
enter the serial number of the 4.0 disk that I have.  I guess that they
want to keep someone who has a bootleg copy of 4.0 from updating it.
OK, that makes sense.
great service from Apple store18 Mar 2008 21:51 GMT2
I took my MBP into the Apple store because the DVD burner was
malfunctioning.  They logged it in and told me that I'd have it back in
less than five days. I choked on hearing "five days."
They said they usually got stuff out in about 2 days but Apple policy

External Drives with Early Mac Mini18 Mar 2008 02:38 GMT8
Looking for advice / gotchas on attaching an external hard drive and
external DVD burner to a late 2005 Mac Mini.  The Mini is a 1.33 GHz
PPC with 1 GB RAM.  What I would like to do to save some money is use
some generic firewire drive enclosures with standard SATA interfaces
Need help reading IBM disks18 Mar 2008 00:11 GMT2
I need a program to install on my new Mac Pro that knows how to read
IBM text and maybe pictures. I bought a copy of The New Yorker book -
the one with everything, everything, they have ever published in their
New Yorker magazine. It has like 9 CDs in the back. So my question is -
What Mouse Do You Use?18 Mar 2008 00:03 GMT49
I think I've about had it with the Mighty Mouse. I'm on my third one
now, and have had the scroll issue with all three, the hyper sensitive
squeeze click with one, and the intermittent right click problem with
another. All three had distinctly different 'feels', making me think
Failure of Disk Utility to resize a partition17 Mar 2008 23:48 GMT6
I have a Maxtor 1.5TB FW800 external drive with three partitions (none
of which are the boot partition).  I deleted one 75GB partition and
wanted to decrease a 750GB partition down to 700GB.
Disk Utility allows me to set this up but after working for about 10
About as misc as you can get: Cables.17 Mar 2008 22:28 GMT8
So I've discovered that I have an awful lot of cables that are specific
to one device or another and are only connected when they're actually
being used. Dealing with permanent cable runs is pretty straightforward
but I'm looking for suggestions on finding a home for the cables ...

Can anyone help me out? I have been trying to install HP printer

I then installed the relevant drivers (a slow process on a G3 running

Disk Warrior17 Mar 2008 18:31 GMT32
Alsoft released Disk Warrior 4.1 on January 28th, with a notice that a
free upgrade from 4.0 would be available "soon".  It has been 44 days
(or six weeks and 2 days), and it hasn't been released yet.
How soon is "soon".
