Mac G4 monitor ----> connect to a IBM PC?18 Feb 2008 21:25 GMT2
The monitor has a connector that does not connect to an ordinary IBM
VGA port. The graphics card in the G4 does not work in the IBM PC
either.
Is there an adapter that converts the G4 monitor connector, to a
Choosing Time for Time Machine Backup -- Izzit Possible?18 Feb 2008 21:19 GMT5
I'm one of those persons that is disgustingly anal, er, uh, methodical, and I
would prefer to select the minute of the hour when a Time Machine backup will
occur. As things stand the time of the backup varies, being somewhat
dependent, so it seems, on when the computer was turned ...
Time Machine Oddity18 Feb 2008 20:07 GMT41
I have one administrator and several user accounts on my MacBook Pro and I
have Time Machine enabled.
The oddity is that when, via Finder, I open the Time Machine main folder
"Backups.backupdb" and then within that folder open "The Acrobatic Aardvark"

MacTheRipper audio18 Feb 2008 18:04 GMT22
I use MacTheRipper to rip DVDs to VideoTS (legally as far as you know!)
Sometimes the audio drops out intermittently just for a second so at a
time on the disc that I burn.  It does not do it on every disc.  There
is no pattern to it that I can detect.  Does this only happen to ...
Invisible Boot Drive?18 Feb 2008 16:32 GMT4
System: Leopard 10.5.1 and 10.5.2, iMac 2.8 Ghz boot drive 750 GB
A couple of weeks before 10.5.2 came out, something weird happened: My
boot drive became invisible. It doesn't show in the finder's sidebar and
when I click on the computer's name in the sidebar, the drive is not
eMac Trouble18 Feb 2008 16:07 GMT7
I have an eMac 1Gz, 40G HD, 740 mg memory that is giving me trouble. I was on
it today and it was very slow. Thought I'd reboot and hopefully things would
clear up. I rebooted and got a grey screen with the twirling circle. It just
stayed there with the twirling circle and would ...
Mac Pro 3.2GHz Ram Installation Video - Where?18 Feb 2008 15:51 GMT3
Not long ago I ran across an online video explaining the steps for
installing 8G of additional RAM in the new 3.2GHz Mac Pros.  I ordered
the 3.2GHz (below) and will beef it up to 8Gigs.  The video guide at
the OWC site is for last year's Mac Pro (3.0 GHz).  I was sure the
10.5.2 update - a tedius job18 Feb 2008 14:54 GMT26
You have to grab a bunch of downloads.
Reboot about a dozen times.
Takes hours -
And it's still broke.
Sometimes I'm slow18 Feb 2008 12:56 GMT5
About three or four days ago, I noticed that a message that I had been
saving in mail.app was missing.  This had happened before, but not in
about seven months or so.  I chalked it up to stupidity, as I had done
previously.
Ye gadds and little catfish, Winders is rough!18 Feb 2008 08:56 GMT10
After beating the Winders bushes for months, I finally
found a way to stop those infuriating Winders UAC modal
windows from sabotaging my MacBook.
(I run Vista on the Mac)
Easy FTP?18 Feb 2008 06:49 GMT29
I want to move movies from my Mac to my friend's PC hundreds of miles
away via FTP.  I use Fetch now for updating my website and its great.  I
wonder if I can use Fetch for uploading to him?  And I wonder what would
be a good choice for him to use?  Or would a private torrent be ...
Photoshop Elements18 Feb 2008 01:21 GMT9
Adobe's Call Center is shut down until Monday so I thought I'd ask here.
Is it true that if I buy PSE 4 now, there is a free upgrade to PSE 6 when it
is released next month?
I ask the above question as I read somewhere that Adobe is following the
How To Synchronize Dock Settings Between Accounts18 Feb 2008 00:01 GMT6
I wish to keep the Dock's application compliment the same between the
three user accounts on my Mac (10.4.11).  If I add or remove an
application to/from the Dock, or if I re-order the applications in the
Dock in my account, I want the Dock's appearance to remain the same in
