I've just recently bought a used G4 and installed Mac OS 10.2,
(Panther?)
because I can't find any Tigers on CD's around.

Yesterday I downloaded the latest version iCab, it was interesting but I
decided that I didn't want the application so I put it all in the Trash
including the preferences. I clicked on Trash to get rid of the app and
other matter. I kept receiving a variety of messages, error and ...

I understood that the carbon API is supposed to be deprecated in future
OS versions. What does that mean for
(a) the Finder- which is a carbonized app?
(b) the Dinosaurs (MS office, Adobe stuff et al.)
