I have two computers - a Dell PC running Windows XP and an iBook running MacOS 10.3.2. Both are connected wirelessly to a Netgear router, which in turn connects to my ISP for internet access. I am a total novice on matters of device and file sharing between these computers.

What I wanna do is to get some of my larger Leopard app's OFF of my MacBook Pro. Leave big app's at home on a desktop Mac, where they belong, and operate them remotely from my MacBook.

| Need to change font size in a pipe line | 05 Feb 2008 14:48 GMT | 1 |

| Wonder where your disk space goes? Look at this. | 05 Feb 2008 02:11 GMT | 101 |
With all the things that iTunes does nowadays with respect to music, movies (downloads and rentals now), iPhone activation and syncing, I was curious as to the size of the program package in the Applications folder. I didn't expect that it would weigh in at a whopping ~120MB!

I am just posting this for amusement. I don't need to do anything about it. But, looking at the Console log, I have found several lines saying The file name for this data might be (or it might not) ...

| Finding documents with strings | 04 Feb 2008 20:44 GMT | 9 |
I'm used to doing this quite a bit under Windows - searching for documents (including source code) that contain a string. I usually look for strings within a file description (such as *.html) for a directory and subdirectories.

| Emptying Mail's boxes | 04 Feb 2008 19:04 GMT | 6 |
A few days ago, I posted an Applescript that empties mail's sent, trash, and junk mailboxes. A few people suggested that I only had to set those boxes to empty daily instead, and wouldn't need to run the script. So I tried that.

| DMG security | 04 Feb 2008 15:39 GMT | 4 |
I created a .DMG file for my work documents, but told it to remember the password. I guess that's not very secure - how do I tell it to require me to use the password when I mount it?

| Macheist - what's the point? | 03 Feb 2008 23:53 GMT | 2 |
So there has been a lot of contreversy about whether MacHeist is good or bad for developers (i.e. they people that run it exploit developers and use it to fund a lavish lifestyle - Ferraris, cociane, hookers etc.)
