MS Word 2008 doc background15 Feb 2008 02:37 GMT8
Is there a simple way of having a default font style/size, background
and layout when I open a new Word 2008 document?  I find it especially
pleasant on the eyes working on documents with black type on a light to
medium grey background.  It would great to have that as a default.  ...
Duplicates in "Open With" List15 Feb 2008 02:30 GMT20
Almost always when I control-click on a document in a Finder window and then
select "Open With" I will see duplicates for some of the suggested
applications.
As an example, here is the list I received when doing an Open With on an rtf

VERY slow internet with Leopard 10.5.1 and .214 Feb 2008 20:41 GMT7
I am sure this has been brought up many times. I am a new convert from
10.3.9 on a Dual MDD 1.0. 10.5 seemed ok. 10.5.1 was slower that frozen
molasses on downloads. I am using a Sonnet PCI wireless card, BTW. I
have finally downloaded (took all day today) the .2 updater, and am ...
I fear for my safety14 Feb 2008 17:41 GMT56
Alan Baker, low level bench tech and mac repair boy is stalking me to the
point I feel for my safety.  My grandparents have been getting crank calls
for the past 48 hours. The caller ID shows up as a number from Vancouver,
BC. He threatens to strangle them with a  Mac keyboard ...
Configuring .Mac mails in... outlook?14 Feb 2008 17:28 GMT4
I have a small problem: I have bought a mail account for my brother (a
.Mac account). The problem is that he does not have a Mac and,
apparently, I can't use outlook in windows to connect to this account.
Any advice?
A civil discussion on OS 10.214 Feb 2008 15:49 GMT14
Would it be possible to have a civil discussion on people's
experiences with 10.2, including installation, new features, benefits,
and any problems?
I ask because I have been running 10.1 and it is by far the most
making Mac files available on PC14 Feb 2008 14:47 GMT1
I have an OSX macintosh networked with an XP PC.  I can see the PC
files on the Mac, but I am not sure how to allow the Mac files to be
shared on the PC.  How do you allow Mac files to be shared on a
network?
iPhoto  &  Photoshop Elements14 Feb 2008 14:01 GMT10
I have several thousand photo files that I would like to be able to work
with more easily than I can at present.
Two applications have been suggested to me: iPhoto and Photoshop Elements.
If I understand the situation correctly, Photoshop Elements does nothing to

Webcam update14 Feb 2008 03:31 GMT1
My Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 arrived and I have it up and running on
my Mac G5 under 10.4.11. I discovered that iGlasses works with it in
both iChat and Skype. The picture is very clear, with great depth of
field, but movement seems a little sluggish. Bottom line: it works.
Ditto on the Alan Baker story... did the same to me.14 Feb 2008 01:58 GMT6
I actually had to change my phone number to get that unstable
character to stop annoying me and my family. There is something
seriously wrong with this guy when he does this at all, never mind
constantly.
