I see that there are new options for folders put into the dock now. You
can choose to view as list which is very much like the behaviour we used
to have when ctrl-clicking in 10.4 and earlier.
You also can have it such that the icon doesn't change with the contents

In the first, the "CCCP" is ASCII; in the second, Cyrillic.

Updated a friends Powerbook from 10.4.11 to 10.5.1 two days ago; a zero

Quicktime Player will not show video, the sound is there, but no vid.
Going to update to X.5.2 shortly, which may fix it, but anyone come

Energy Saver quit working16 Feb 2008 17:59 GMT13
All of a sudden I noticed that my computer would not go to sleep
automatically any more.  I can make it go to sleep manually but the
Energy Saving settings just will not put it to sleep.  I have checked to
make sure no applications were running that might keep it from sleeping.
Permission and move standard folders16 Feb 2008 17:41 GMT13
Is it possible to move 'standard folders' in Leopard to another place?
E.g. I'd like to move 'Pictures', 'Movies', 'Sites' and 'Music' into a
newly created folder 'Media'. What makes these folders special and how
do they get an icon?
External DVD burner override?16 Feb 2008 15:30 GMT1
I can't get my LaCie Porsche DVD/CD burner to override the internal Mac
burner in my aluminum iMac 2.4. In other words the LaCie isn't
recognized when a blank is in it. I'd like to copy a CD from the Mac
burner to the LaCie. How do I do that? Thanks!

I've completed the updates successfully, along with the graphical
update. Did 2 restarts, and according to the release notes, the

How Do I Format NTFS Drives For Use With A Mac16 Feb 2008 01:11 GMT2
One of the two drives in my LaCie 500GB Firewire hard drive stopped
working.  I removed both drives from the enclosure and replaced them
with two 20GB drives that were sitting around.  I had previously removed
these 20GB drives a couple of months ago from the W2K Server at my
Clean Install??????????16 Feb 2008 00:21 GMT3
I want to do a clean install.  But I don't want to have to re-install
my applications.  Or re-enter all my data.
I've been seeing some buggy behavior from Leopard, which I assume is
caused by some 3rd party apps that  have modified some essential parts
