Help with new Portal29 Dec 2007 06:09 GMT5
I am putting together a portal site covering creative mac sites and
tutorials. If you have a site and would have time to add it, it would
be greatly appreciated. The site is www.maccreative.net
It is very new, :(
Is it gone or did I turn it off?29 Dec 2007 04:54 GMT24
Just noticed while booting up Leopard (fifth day) that when it's starting the
loading bar doesn't show.  Just that little graphic bar across the middle of
the screen.  Has this been discontinued from Leopard or did I turn it off
somehow?

I will provide as many details as I am aware of, so sorry if some
vital information is missing, but hopefully I will have enough to get
some helpful feedback...

need help with Acrobat Forms29 Dec 2007 00:24 GMT2
I need to develop some forms that club members can download, fill in,
save, and then email back to us with the information they have entered.
The major need is that members should be able to use Acrobat Reader to
complete and save the forms.

Video connection for mini?28 Dec 2007 19:14 GMT11
I just purchased a mini and am in the process of purchasing an Acer 24"
monitor.  When my friend ordered a G4 mini, a VGA adapter was included.
But the apple site makes no mention on the Intel of an included adapter.
The Acer has VGA and DVI-D (HDCP) connectors, so what should I do ...
Ipod recognization28 Dec 2007 19:05 GMT2
Using an Intel Mini 1.5ghz on 10.4.11 and noticed that sometimes when I
plug in an Ipod shuffle its not recognized as a removable drive, and
other times it is.  When it is, I can move music files over to it just
like a removable drive.  I like that simplicity.  I'd rather not ...
Home folder hidden28 Dec 2007 14:44 GMT2
My home folder is hidden in Finder. How do I unhide it?
In Finder, /Users shows my Shared folder (/Users/Shared) and another
account I have on the machine. But *my* home folder, /Users/richard
doesn't appear. It appears in PLACES and I can enter it there.
iMac G5 inverter board28 Dec 2007 08:51 GMT1
I have a G5 iMac 20" with a dead inverter board.  New boards for the 17"
model are very common on ebay.  Is there a URL somewhere that could tell
me for certain if the boards for the 17's and 20's are the same or
different parts.
Helvetica - The Movie28 Dec 2007 05:55 GMT7
I just received my copy of the movie, Helvetica, - fantastic - enlightening -
educational - and lots and lots of other good things! I highly recommend it
for anyone interested in typography.
And, I found it interesting how prevalent the Mac is in the design of
Can Mail.app import Netscape mail messages?28 Dec 2007 04:49 GMT2
My wife has been using Netscape to handle her email for several years
now. I finally persuaded her to use Mail.app, and have set her up for
that with one exception -- I haven't found a way to import her old messages.
Mail has an "Import Mailboxes" command that requires selection ...
Printing in Leopard via Airport/Bonjour28 Dec 2007 04:00 GMT7
I have a printer attached to this iMac and my wife has been printing to it
from her iMac G5 over the Airport network.
After upgrading both machines to Leopard she can no longer print.
When printing in Tiger, the networked printer appeared in her dropdown window
Leopard:  Move Already-Opened Windows Between Spaces?28 Dec 2007 01:47 GMT9
Is there any way to move windows already opened by whatever application
to a different space in Leopard?
Somewhat-related question:  I think I recall the Mac at one of the local
Apple stores having a representation each space, or perhaps spaces as a

Safari timing out when loading pages27 Dec 2007 23:47 GMT1
I'm running Tiger and I've just installed 10.4.11.  When I try to load
web pages with many images, most of the images do not load, and the
activity log has many "timed out" errors.  (I have a 56k dialup
connection).  I'm not able to find any setting to increase this timeout
