| Weird Mail.app problem. 3D appearing after = sign. | 07 Dec 2007 19:29 GMT | 1 |
A friend sent me a you tube link that didn't work. A little investigating showed me something weird. In Mail.app, every equals sign in his message got a "3D" appended to it, so this link:

| How to fully backup the BootCamp partition? | 07 Dec 2007 12:25 GMT | 1 |
Dear friends: This is my old question: How to fully backup the BootCamp partition? CarbonCopyCloner worked very well with Tiger, but after I upgraded to Leopard, it fails to do the backup at a random moments during the

| AFP vs SMB - NAS server | 07 Dec 2007 11:36 GMT | 5 |
We've just purchased a new Thecus U4500 NAS. The NAS can run numerous filesystems including AFP. As we predominantly use Macs in the office (we're a design studio) I've setup AFP and let the Macs connect using that, and the remaining PC's in the office use their standard.

| New iMac / Leopard / external drive woes | 07 Dec 2007 04:58 GMT | 9 |
I'm trying to get Leopard, running on new gen Intel iMac 20" (boss' new toy purchased because of all my raving abut the ease of use of Macs...), to see an external FW drive (WD My Book Premium), which for some reason it doesn't, from which I need to download the

| auto wake from sleep - doesn't | 07 Dec 2007 04:48 GMT | 3 |
I use Carbon Copy Cloner to do a daily backup t external HD, scheduled daily at 6:30. CCC will not force the system to wake from sleep, so System Prefs, Energy saver schedule is set to startup or wake from sleep every day at 6:15 , but this does not happen.

| Sleep weirdness | 07 Dec 2007 03:49 GMT | 1 |
I have a client running 10.3.9 on a G5 iMac (no iSight). Every time the iMac goes to sleep, it won't wake up. When you tap the spacebar (or any other key or the mouse) the iMac shuts down instead of waking up. It powers up fine, all the diagnostic LED's are lit. I did a

| Unix tools and leopard = icky | 07 Dec 2007 02:21 GMT | 34 |
Thus far, almost every tool and package I've tried to use from 3rd parties has problems. There are known issues listed in various groups, forums, blogs, etc. This is ironic since Leopard is the first official MacOS X "unix" with full trademark permissions.

| Finally embracing OsX | 06 Dec 2007 23:16 GMT | 34 |
The main reason I have continued to do most of my work on an old 300MHz PM7500/Os9.1 rather than the 1GHz G4 TiBook/Os10.4.9 attached to the spiffing Cinema Display on my desk is that I just couldn't live with the slow Finder in X.

| Backing up OSX / external HD enclosure | 06 Dec 2007 22:24 GMT | 5 |
Ever since my hard drive crashed a few months ago and I lost everything I have become determined to properly back up everything. I am running a Macbook Pro in combination with a 250 Gb Western Digital USB HD. The HD is partitioned into two drives (one for booting, one

| leopard Disk Permission statement | 06 Dec 2007 21:53 GMT | 4 |
I am running an iMac G5 with leopard installed. When I repair the disk permission, it takes 7-9 minutes, and I receive this message: "Warning : Suid file" /library/core services/remote management/ ARDAgent.app/content...."

| Weird black stripes on my Dual G5 ... | 06 Dec 2007 20:06 GMT | 3 |
All of a sudden, there's weird black stripes around the icons on my desktop, the icons on the dock and around the cursor. They are about 10-12 pixels long, and only seem to appear in the three places above.

| Using Leopard Disk Utility on 10.3.9 Hard Drive | 06 Dec 2007 19:58 GMT | 4 |
Would there be any problem with using Leopard's version of Disk Utility to repair directory and permissions on a hard drive with 10.3.9 installed?

| The Push To Discredit Leopard | 06 Dec 2007 19:51 GMT | 36 |
I'm sure you've seen them lately. It started at PCMagazine with a short pro/con review of Leopard but has been picked up by a gaggle of Windows/Microsoft loving bloggers who are now claiming "Apple's Leopard is the New Vista". Their game is to discredit Leopard and
