I had some DVDs done for a conference I organized.I was wondering if there is any way that I can "rip" stills from the DVDs to use in a hard copy report I am preparing. I did think of using the "Grab" software but it has obviously been regulated to prevent doing this

While trouble shooting a dsl modem connectivity problem, I realized that my two external firewire drives were not mounting... I checked the Network Port Configurations in the Network Prefs and was surprised tto see that "Built-in FireWire" is greyed out(!)

New to the mac but a battle scarred Windows convert. I have used a number of apps for the PC to backup my DVDs. My son has a habit of trashing DVDs within a couple of mins so now i back them up for him to play on the DVD. There is the disclaimer.
