I downloaded the 10.5 server admin tools from Apple. Workgroup Manager worked in 10.5.0 but it crashes in 10.5.1. Can anyone else get it working under 10.5.1 client (not Server)?

I noticed this on two different MacBooks after the 10.4.11 update. Instead of sleeping, the computer shuts down and the next time I open the lid, it restarts by itself. I called Applecare and they said to uncheck the "Put hard disk to sleep

My God, what a terrible program. And I can't even export a file to AIFF -- the conversion seems to reach an end, then it just hangs up. Please tell me there is an alternative DSS program out there somewhere.

I have a pretty loud hard drive and it is making a racket for about two minutes after the OS has completely loaded and the user interface is usable. Do you have any suggestions for what to check? (I'm on 10.2 so it's not spotlight).

Nothing so frustrating as being on the road with your MacBook, needing some obscure file back on your desktop Mac. Perhaps you actually deleted that file on your home Mac, not realizing how important it would become later.
