I'm trying to create a PPC Leopard bootable partition (or two) on an external firewire drive. My ultimate goal is to get Leopard installed on my iMac flat panel 800Mhz machine, which isn't supported by Leopard. It's the kid's

| Mac doesn't wake up from keyboard | 02 Nov 2007 15:01 GMT | 3 |
Since installing Leopard my Mac Pro seems less interesting in waking up from sleep. It used to be that the first press of mouse or keyboard would do it, but for the last two days it seems to ignore this, and only a press of the front-panel power button will do it.

| Leopard/Airport Problem on 867 GHz Mac | 02 Nov 2007 04:54 GMT | 1 |
Well I went ahead and installed Leopard on a clean external FW drive. It starts and runs all 3 of our computers--- 2 GHz iMac, 1.2 GHz iBook and 867 MHz Quicksilver. The huge problem is that I cannot get an adequate Airport extreme connection on the QS with Leopard; I get just a ...

Hello, all. I'm a convert from Linux, although I still do use the machines at my university (mostly over ssh). I'm running into a problem: When I'm using vim (on any other system) regularly, when I close the file (SHIFT-ZZ), then reopen it later, the cursor is where I

| Big screw up: can no longer boot from CD | 02 Nov 2007 00:48 GMT | 6 |
I'm doing a 'secure empty trash' on an old computer in preparation for giving it away (G3 running 10.3.something), and I dragged a bunch of applications to the trash, selected secure empty trash and let it run all night as it choked down the stuff.

Leopard's Boot Camp now _requires_ Journaling be enabled in order to set up the Windows partition. This is different from previous Tiger versions of Boot Camp, where Journaling could be turned off without affecting Boot Camp.

| no sound because no speakers | 01 Nov 2007 19:49 GMT | 6 |
My MacBook just stopped making sound. When I looked around the System Prefs, I found that the Sound CP thinks there are no speakers. There are, though - if I reset the PRAM the bong is clearly audible, but by the time the system is up, it once again thinks there are no speakers.

| Leopard Admin User - Should I? | 01 Nov 2007 19:49 GMT | 9 |
Is it worth creating an Administrative user in Leopard who can administrate the computer and then a general users for myself? I did this in Panther and it worked fine - now I am just checking it if this is still a good practice. Especially for a laptop.

Ok, I've built an OS X media server for all my digital movies. It is now 2.5 TB. I don't want to be a complainer but trying to back that up without a fast tape drive is out of the question. I have a LTO 2 scsi tape drive which is attached to a windows box running Backup Exec. It ...

For some reason, after I upgraded to Leopard, then whenever I put my MacBook Pro to sleep, it spontaneously wakes up after some time (can be from a few minutes to an hour or two.) I don't know why this is happening, but I know for sure that it's related to Leopard since I
