upgrade 80gb iPod to 160gb?28 Nov 2007 16:10 GMT4
Simple:
I have a 5g video iPod (model MA450LL) at 80GB, using v1.2.1
All I want to do is drop a 160GB HDD into it, and have it behave as it
did before-but with more storage.
Problems with Secure Empty Trash in Leopard28 Nov 2007 15:34 GMT25
Every time I test Secure Empty Trash the progress indicator stays on
screen with the original count of items that were in the trash.  I'm
just testing with a handful of files totaling about 6 MB.  I have to
relaunch Finder to kill it.  I left my Mac up while I ran errands and
RSS broken in Mail 3.128 Nov 2007 15:16 GMT1
After I upgraded to Mail 3.1 (came with 10.5.1), RSS feeds no longer update.
Anyone else has the same issue?  Can this be fixed?
Mac mini forgets my keyboard28 Nov 2007 13:35 GMT10
I've got a bit of a weird problem: when I leave my Mac Mini running for more
than a few hours it forgets about my Slide Arch USB keyboard. If I unplug
its USB cable and plug it back in then it recognises it.
I've a suspicion that the Mac Mini might be detecting next-doors bluetooth
iSync should sync my phone to Address Book, right?28 Nov 2007 12:41 GMT2
So I lost my old phone and my roomate gave me his old V360. I bought
the USB cable for it and it was immediately recognized when I plugged
it in. iSync ran fine, and then... nothing. Am I wrong to think that
the phone numbers on the phone should have appeared inside Address
Sparse Disk Images28 Nov 2007 09:54 GMT4
Once created, is there a way to increase the capacity of a sparse disk
image?
If not, are there any drawbacks to creating an absurdly large sparse
disk image (e.g. reduced performance, larger block sizes resulting in
Time Machine on a networked drive?28 Nov 2007 07:18 GMT5
I'm looking into how I want to use Time Machine on my Macs. Since I will
have two (and eventually three) Macs in the house, and since one or two
of them will be laptops, it seems to me that a network drive would be
the way to go.
reset tiger password with leopard disc...28 Nov 2007 06:44 GMT6

g5 reliable video card ati 9600 x80028 Nov 2007 06:11 GMT4
I've posted in the past about the video not coming up sometimes.
I've narrowed it down to a temperature issue.  Anyway, for a few
months I've been just letting the computer sleep instead of shutting
down.  This has been working until a few days ago (a little cooler
Any good Terminal/Unix books for Leopard yet?28 Nov 2007 03:07 GMT3
Too soon to be seeing any decent references to Leopard's Terminal and
Unix underpinnings?
TIA,
Jamie Kahn Genet.
Automatic Mounting of Volumes - Can it be Supressed?28 Nov 2007 02:59 GMT22
I've ranted on this before, but had hoped that it would be addressed in
Leopard, but apparently not.....
I have several user accounts and one administrator account. I normally am
using one of the user accounts.
unexpected folder28 Nov 2007 02:45 GMT1
I recently bought a new iMac to replace my mini.
Used migration assistant to move files and accounts.
All went well
but
OS X (Tiger) frozen after update28 Nov 2007 00:47 GMT7
I recently downloaded the 10.5.1 update for OS X Tiger. A number of
components installed successfully, but at some point, the update
failed. It alerted of an installation failure and prompted for a
restart, and it hasn't booted since then. It doesn't go past the grey
G3 users abandoned..28 Nov 2007 00:22 GMT51
I am a G3 user who feels rather abandoned by Apple removing support
for G3 processors in Leopard.
Is any attempt going to be made to provide unofficial support for
slower G4 and G3 users by efforts such as XPostFacto, or should I
New User - Internet Security28 Nov 2007 00:12 GMT3
I just purchased a new MacBook and was wondering if I should be
purchasing some kind of Internet Security software.  I know that Macs
are supposedly immune to viruses and spyware, but how about hackers in
general?
