One Leopard volume can boot both PPC and Intel Macs11 Nov 2007 14:48 GMT31
Someone may have pointed this out already, but just in case, a drive
with Leopard installed can boot both Intel and PowerPC Macs.  I
installed Leopard, from an Intel mini, onto a FW drive I partitioned
with a GUID table, and I have since booted with the mini and my G5 from
Expose keyboard shortcuts not working11 Nov 2007 13:24 GMT2
I'm running Leopard on a PowerBook G4 with a British keyboard.
When I press F8, F9, or F10 I get a light grey box on the screen with
a picture similar to the icon on the key.  What I'd like is for those
to work as Expose keyboard shortcuts.

I just upgraded from Tiger do Leopard. Now I noticed that there is a high
load with mdworker processes running. They are running for my user, the
user bin and the postgres user I created when I installed postgres quite
some time ago. The strange thing seems to be that, it seems to ...

What did Leopard break for you?11 Nov 2007 00:10 GMT3
Upgrading to 10.5 from 10.4 was pretty painless.  It resulted in a lot
fewer issues than I remember having when I went to 10.4 from 10.3.9.
And my worries that my older hardware (1.25 GHz G4 eMac, 768MB RAM)
wouldn't be able to handle it were completely unfounded.  So far it
growlnotify doesn't work in Leopard10 Nov 2007 21:08 GMT2
My crontab-run reminder shell script uses growlnotify to display alerts
on the desktop. A forum message at http://growl.info/ says growlnotify
does not work with Leopard. Are there any other ways for a script to
display messages on the desktop?
Multi-Touch in Leopard10 Nov 2007 20:17 GMT7
Is it generally known that multi-touch works in Leopard?  At least
with GraphicConverter, you can enlarge pics with the two-finger
motion. Is this a general capability?

Leopard: Washed-out icons fixed10 Nov 2007 20:06 GMT2
With all the interface crimes Apple committed in Leopard at least one
minor, but annoying, bug was fixed. In 10.4 and before, if one turned on
'show invisible files' (with OnyX, Cocktail, or the cmd line), icons on
the Desktop or in icon-view windows were pale, washed out. In ...

Software Update has refused to download the last couple of updates to
iTunes, returning an error message referencing "NSURLError Domain -1005
(-1005)." I could download the update directly from the Apple Web site
Buying incremental MacOS releases on disc10 Nov 2007 16:09 GMT21
In considering getting a more modern Macintosh, I see web sites
predicting MacOS X 10.5.1 release within a few months.
What is the current mechanism for buying such a release for a machine:

Leopard Sidebar Question10 Nov 2007 14:50 GMT15
I installed Leopard on my husband's iBook and all went well.  His
sidebar, in contrast to mine, shows a strange device identified as a
connected "PC server" under the "shared" category.  Get Info says it is
connected as a guest.  This does not show on my Mac.  On mine, I only
