Leopard Finder temporarily gets unauthorized access13 Nov 2007 04:27 GMT4
Yesterday I used Finder to navigate to /Users/mywife/Public.  I noticed that
the red prohibitory sign was missing from her ~/Pictures folder.  I was
able to double click it and get in to that folder, which had always
previously been set to No Access for all others.
iTune won't connect13 Nov 2007 04:21 GMT3
Suddenly, iTunes service started to degrade over a period of about 2
minutes. First, it slowed down, then it stopped. Then it gave funky
icons on the screen.
AFter a reboot, it gives nice icons on startup but claims that the store

MT NW losing the news server13 Nov 2007 03:41 GMT6
Is this program (version 3.5.1) particularly sensitive to router/news
server interactions?  I recently hooked up a Linksys RT31P2 router for
its hardware firewall and the speeds are fine.  But after being
reading some newsgroups for a few minutes it disconnects.  Then I have
Hard Drive Upgrade for G4 iBook13 Nov 2007 00:56 GMT11
We have a 933 Mhz PPC G4 iBook with a 40 GB drive that is full. Was
wondering how big a deal it would be to upgrade to a larger capacity
drive and have a few questions:
o If replacing the drive on a laptop is as straightforward as doing so

Leopard and launchd user agents12 Nov 2007 23:32 GMT5
I had a user agent (~/Library/LaunchAgents/rename-pdf) that watched a
folder of change of contents and performed an action whenever one
occurred.  It performed flawlessly under Tiger running on my iMac G3,
but no amount of coaxing will get it to perform with Leopard on my new

iMac DV - can it use large hard drives?12 Nov 2007 21:04 GMT10
I recall that some of the older powerpc macs could not use all of the
available space on newer large capacity hard drives. Is an iMac DV one
of those computers and if so, how much of a new drive can they use?
Thanks.
Leopard Permissions Bizarreness12 Nov 2007 20:05 GMT15
I'm running a G4, silver front, 1.0 mhz, 2 gig RAM.
I installed Leopard over 10.3.9 and everything was going fine for a a
few days. Then, things began to slow down, with the spinning beachball
going on for about 30 seconds every time I tried to do anything.

dragging cursor to highlight problem in Leopard.12 Nov 2007 19:17 GMT8
I am having a hard time just explaining this.
The bug seems to be in the ability to drag the cursor for the purpose of
highlighting a few words or lines of text.
The drag does not catch from where I want a highlight to start and usually

Tip/warning about Leopard permissions fixing under pre 10.5 systems12 Nov 2007 08:36 GMT4
I just saw this on Alsoft website and I wanted to share since it was
exactly what I would do from my 10.4.10 partition if I have installed
Leopard.
Do not attempt to fix Leopard permissions from Pre Leopard OS X
