Command-Tab29 Nov 2007 17:13 GMT4
Please forgive if I have asked this question here before--I've been asking
it EVERYWHERE, to anyone who will listen!
Ya know how you can do an Option-Command-H to "Hide Others"? Well, is there
any way to get OSX to automatically do that for you each time you press
Memory upgrade question29 Nov 2007 16:11 GMT7
I expect to receive a 20" 2.16Ghz C2D imac shortly. I think it comes
with 1G = 2 x 512 memory. I'd like to upgrade it to its max of 3G.
AFAIK, the only way to do this to discard the memory modules the
computer came with, and instal one 2G + 1G moduels. Two questions:
Hard Drives with applications in them??29 Nov 2007 14:25 GMT8
OK I'm a PC user completely confused.  When I download an installer (a
"dmg" I guess) And then install it, I get little hard drive icons on
my desktop with the name of the application that just installed.
Like, it even gives me the option of ejecting them if I try to drag
OSX 10.4/MT-Newswatcher 3.5.229 Nov 2007 09:16 GMT2
Hello folks. It seems I've messed up my prefs for MT Newswatcher 3.5.2.
It takes a good minute to open and the connections are unstable. I'm
having some luck with Hogwasher, though it is a little more complicated
than newswatcher was.
May 6 and Leopard29 Nov 2007 09:11 GMT1
Has anyone run this admittedly ancient version of Maya (6.0) with
Leopard on a PowerMac?
Afraid to do the upgrade because I know AutoDesk wont support it if it
blows up and I'm stuck booting into Tiger if I want to run my old
Remotely power on a Mac29 Nov 2007 08:39 GMT6
Anyone know if this is possible? I once had an ADB device that could do
this via the phone line, but I forgot what it was called, Powerkey I think.
Deleting files not in Trash29 Nov 2007 05:06 GMT10
I must have done something but I can't remember what.  Now my deleted
files are not ending in the trash.  I checked Tinkertool and
Tinkertool System to see if any setting in there might have been
altered but couldn't see anything relating to the problem.  Finder
Hacking NAS support into Time Machine29 Nov 2007 03:30 GMT4
I've written up instructions for hacking NAS support into 10.5.1 Time
Machine.  The process includes enabling NAS selection in Time Machine
and fixing incorrect parameters in its disk image.

Missing typing, mouse clicks, mouse movements - Leopard 10.5.129 Nov 2007 03:20 GMT7
I am finding that some of my keyboard/mouse actions are not picked up.
That is, I'll start typing and the first character is missed. Some
mouse clicks are missed. Moving the mouse (trackpad) doesn't move he
cursor for a moment, then everything is all right.

Best video card for legacy Mac29 Nov 2007 00:18 GMT6
I would like to know which is the best video card ever made for legacy
Mac?
The Radeon 9200 PCI or the Radeon 7000 PCI, or something else?

newish Macs hard drives dying29 Nov 2007 00:02 GMT8
Quite often, I see a post about the hard drive on someone's MacBook or
other such newish Mac (under two years old) dying. The 10gig hard drive
on my seven-year-old G4/400 Sawtooth is still going strong (I added a
120gig Maxtor internal two years ago) and the 4gig drive on my
Unexpected Zoom (Universal Access) - Leopard 10.5.128 Nov 2007 20:47 GMT13
Working away normally, I suddenly found the desktop zoomed-in,
everything magnified roughly 1.2x. Every move of the mouse caused he
whole desktop to pan. Everything was a little fuzzy. Very disorienting
when you don't expect it.
open -n28 Nov 2007 18:22 GMT2
An interesting feature of leopard I just noticed while responding to
another thread: the 'open' command now supports a new option, -n,
which creates a new instance of the .app being opened.  This is
apparently designed primarily for use with another new option, -W,
Installing packages via port28 Nov 2007 17:52 GMT1
