I've installed 10.5 on my Mac Pro and am using an external Firewire drive for Time Machine. It's working well but I see the usefulness of making the drive bootable. Since I'm only a few days in, I may as well do it now.

| Leopard's Apple menu, no "Location" entry? | 31 Oct 2007 17:47 GMT | 8 |
Tiger versus Leopard's "Apple Menu" "Location" in the Apple menu is totally missing in Leopard. Is there any way to regain the same ease-of-use that Tiger had? Namely, with practically one-click in Tiger, I could select between:

New iMac on the way... I gather an Intel Mac with Boot Camp will only support Windows XP or Vista. I have Windows 98 from my old PC (soon to be disposed of). Is there any reason I couldn't install Windows 98 on the new Mac and then

| Speed | 31 Oct 2007 09:30 GMT | 29 |
I moved away from the Dark World two years ago and after six months of purgatory with different Linux distros, I discovered OS X when I bought my first mac, an original Mac mini. I, immediately, fell in love with Tiger. It's everything Windoze has

Having done backups before upgrading to Leopard with CarbonCopyCloner I can report that TimeMachine (at least running first time) is much slower copying files. From a MBP to a FW800 connected 1TB Hitachi disk I get around 20 MB/s
