Removing eject menu?22 Sep 2007 06:19 GMT3
Just trying to figure out how to remove the Eject menu from the menubar?
I only had it installed as I had a non-Apple keyboard for a while
(gotta say I was pleasantly surprised with the new style, not that I
particularly need 19 Function buttons).

mouse wakes Mac when sleeping21 Sep 2007 22:00 GMT15
Contrary to the way Windows machines worked, it used to be that Macs
would not be awoken by just moving the mouse. You had to hit the ESC
key or click the mouse or take some other action that was more
extreme. I liked that because it was too easy to accidentally move the

problem with terminal location21 Sep 2007 18:29 GMT6
Please excuse any ambiguities or mistakes on my part, I'm not a Linux,
BASH, or Unix expert by any stretch of the imagination. I'm running
into a strange problem with the location of my terminal, i.e. what it
identifies as it's location. When I start up the terminal I see this:
Terminal command to sleep Mac21 Sep 2007 16:52 GMT35
I'm looking for a way to put a Mac to sleep from the command line.
I looked at pmset but it only seems to change the sleep scheduler.  pmset
also needs to be run as root.  I'm just looking for a one-time command to
put a Mac to sleep that a non-admin user can enter from the ...
Recommendation for b&w laser printer with 8.5x14 drawer21 Sep 2007 16:43 GMT4
I need recommendations for a black & white laser printer that would
have an 8.5x14 (legal size) drawer.  Does such a printer exist?  It is
a printer for our accountant who uses a iMac G5.  I haven't had much
luck doing a Google search.  Many thanks.

PC Anywhere for Mac?21 Sep 2007 05:32 GMT6
I use OS X 99% of the time but I have a friend far away that's just
starting on Windows XP and is seriously in need of some very basic
help.  I thought it would be very useful if I could see his screen in
real time.  I don't need to have control over this computer.  Can
Procmail to Send Email to Programs for Processing21 Sep 2007 03:58 GMT6
I have an problem that I can probably solve by using procmail to save an
Email attachment to disk, run a program to act upon that attachment, and
then Email the resulting output (probably also as an attachment) back to
the sender of the message.
Who's Noob Carroll?21 Sep 2007 03:38 GMT31
I was reading this a.shole, first saying that Apple clears $90,000,000
