Mac OSX 10.4.x, airport and programs startup29 Sep 2007 01:24 GMT4
I have a somewhat puzzling (to me) problem with my Macbook. Two
programs, Mathematica 6.0 and Numbers, randomly freeze at startup.
Symptoms are: click on icon, bounces for about one minute then stop,
program freezed for endless time. The problem occurs whenever I am not
PLEASE HELP! My eMac is driving me crazy!!!28 Sep 2007 23:54 GMT10
I'm at my wits end. My eMac computer keeps hanging. Running 10.3.
First the cursor will move but it won't move anything on the screen,
and then it freezes to the screen. Often times an icon, or the dock,
or a window will get all the pixels all smeared looking or jumbled. A

Why don't you go back, as I did,  through the posts and threads - and find
where our interaction started.  Very interesting.

new iMac speakers28 Sep 2007 19:20 GMT4
Being used to the two cute speaker balls of my G4, I don't see any
speakers on the new iMacs. There is a speaker connection on them. So
does this mean you have to buy extra speakers?
Bye for awhile, work piling up, enjoy my absence :)28 Sep 2007 15:39 GMT2
This thread is getting ridiculous beyond belief.
I started this thread to demonstrate to Mac users how they could expand
their Macs to do serious dictation work.
This opportunity was not available for Macs a few short years ago, prior
computer defects28 Sep 2007 15:22 GMT60
apple seems to have had many well publicized quality defects through the
years. The G5 leaks, being the most recent in a long line.
No other major PC maker seems to have any, of any consequence.
Why?

What is the best way to clean an LCD monitor? Water and a little
soap? Windex? Something else? Thanks.

Dangers of running Windows on Parallels on Mac28 Sep 2007 10:17 GMT27
Hi, I've just bought a new Mac and installed parallels on it with an
intention of installing Win XP or Vista. I started to worry though if
there are any dangers behind that? I'm thinking here stuff like:
spyware, viruses, adware and other junk that Windows is vulnerable to.

Printer set-up crashes28 Sep 2007 02:44 GMT9
I'm running a G4 eMac on OS10.3. When I try to add a new printer the
printer set-up utility crashes. Do I have to re-install the system
software, or part of it, or is there an easier way round the problem?
Leopard hardware requirements28 Sep 2007 02:17 GMT23
Of course, this is from a rumor site, so it may not be totally accurate.
Just weeks ahead of its public launch, Apple Inc. has updated the
minimum system requirements for its next-generation Leopard operating
system to exclude 800MHz PowerPC-based Macs, AppleInsider has learned.
Outlook Express Spell Check Problem27 Sep 2007 22:09 GMT1
when i use outlook express the spell check icon is grayed out. I don't
remember it always being like this. When I open Microsoft Works the spell
check works fine. I don't know if the two programs use the same dictionary,
but can anyone help me out?
Disk Issue: Invalid sibling link, underlying task reported failure on exit...27 Sep 2007 18:55 GMT8
Hello, All!
Maybe someone has an idea how to fix this: My Mac Mini (PPC, Tiger
10.4.10) has an issue on the internal boot disk. I noticed that some
programs (e.g. the installer for the flash player) got stuck when

Try this for your new tag line:
Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away;
Only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air.

Custom dictionary location?27 Sep 2007 16:45 GMT2
I accidentally taught my Mac a misspelling (the mouse slipped over Learn
Spelling on the way to the suggestions). Can anyone tell me where the
built-in spellchecker keeps its custom word list?
